About the role
We're looking for a passionate data science leader to spearhead our MarTech initiatives and unlock the full potential of data-driven demand marketing. This role is heavily focused on building and deploying models for predictive and prescriptive analytics, not just descriptive reporting. I.e. Less on descriptive (5-10%), more prescriptive and predictive (>80%)

What you’ll do:

• Meaningfully improve business results by leveraging cutting-edge data science and machine learning techniques
• Lead the development and deployment of production-ready ML (predictive/prescriptive) models for tasks:
  Automated anomaly detection and root cause analysis for discovered anomalies
  Highly accurate forecasting models that combine internal and market demand signals.More accurate forecasting model based on both internal and market demand signals
  User search intent understanding and optimal landing page experience matching.Understanding user’s search intent and matching it to the best landing page experience
  In-session propensity scoring
• Build predictive models and even prescriptive models that deploy to production
  Either AWS or GCP
  Monitoring of data pipeline and data quality
  Monitoring of model drift, if any
  A/B different models in production
• Translate complex data science concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior management and stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor a team of junior analysts and developers

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science and Machine Learning with clear and strong track record of deliverables that improved business outcomes
• Proficiency in building and deploying models to production using either AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
• Clear communication (in English) and can translate complicated ideas to stakeholders like a 5th grader
• Can lead and guide junior developers and budding data scientists
  Strong sense of ownership and bias towards action
• Python fluency (+++)
• NLP, LLMs including embeddings, vector DBs, and neural nets (++)
• Experimentation setup and post mortems both frequentist & bayesian (++)

What you'll do:

• Establish and monitor company user operation metrics, ensuring an efficient operation system.
• Plan and implement the operation of the company's Customer Data Platform (CDP).
• Develop and implement user growth strategies, and understand the user acquisition, conversion, and retention funnel to optimize and improve the quality and quantity of user conversions.
• Design and test strategies to enhance user engagement and conversion in different scenarios and functionalities, based on data analysis.
• Translate business requirements into specific product requirements, and communicate with technology, product, and on-site teams to launch new features.
• Lead the central team and collaborate with local teams to plan, execute, and implement user journeys.
• Collaborate with the R&D team to create user profiles, user tags, and user event roadmaps and operation systems.

What you'll need:

• Familiarity with the construction, maintenance, and use of at least one CDP platform.
• Proficiency in the use and operation of at least one Marketing Automation (MA) tool.
• Knowledge of user lifecycle management and membership system construction.
• Excellent bilingual communication skills, with fluency in English.

Industry Experience :

• Background in the e-commerce industry, preferably with experience in platform products, membership products, and operations.
• Ability to work in a multilingual environment.

Position Experience :

• Over 5 ～ 10 years of experience in user operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale user operation projects, with the ability to independently formulate and execute operational strategies.
• Strong team management and cross-departmental coordination skills, capable of efficiently integrating resources to achieve goals.
• Excellent data analysis and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to drive operational strategy optimization and improvement through data insights.
