The National University of Singapore invites applications for research assistant/associates in the Multimodal Neuroimaging in Neuropsychiatric Disorders Laboratory (MNNDL), Center for Sleep and Cognition at the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The MNNDL group at NUS studies the human neural bases of cognitive functions and the associated vulnerability patterns in aging and neuropsychiatric disorders using multimodal neuroimaging and psychophysical techniques. We are interested in the large-scale brain structural and functional networks in healthy developing and aging brain and symptoms-related changes in diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders and psychosis. Statistical, computational, and machine learning methods are developed to analyze and fuse multimodal neuroimaging data. By integrating longitudinal behavior, neuroimaging, and genotype data, our long-term goal is to investigate the interactions among brain network dynamics, behavior, diseases, and genotypes to develop non-invasive biomarkers for early detection, differential diagnosis, progression monitoring, and treatment design.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will work closely with, the Principal Investigator, lab members, and collaborators to ensure smooth operation of computing servers/storage, efficient database management, and successful completion of research projects in the lab.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The research assistant will support the effort in conducting cutting-edge neuroscience and machine learning research and development. The research assistant is expected to learn neuroimaging software and assist researchers in IRB application, data preprocessing and database management in various research projects. He/she will be exposed to ongoing research work in machine learning and statistical analysis in the context of neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience. The research assistant/associate will have the opportunity to liaise and work with other collaborators across the institutes/hospitals in Singapore on research projects and contribute to the presentations and publications of research work. The candidate will join the Singapore Capital Market Run the bank team in charge of running application for capital market from Front-Office (Murex, Apex, Orchestrade…), Back-Office (Summit, Calypso…) and Market data referential (Asset Control..), Market Risk applications (in-house application on big data technologies). Main responsibilities

Application monitoring responsibilities

· Define and implement in coordination with the build team the needed application monitoring

· Supervise and monitor daily and monthly chains and handle user request by working closely with project, infrastructure and production teams

· Support overnight batches which take place during the Singapore Morning and early afternoon time to ensure that problems are swiftly analyzed and resolved to minimize down-time.

· Process and issue daily, weekly and monthly reporting on data quality of risk chain in which the activity is usually more intense on monthly run.

Incidents and Requests management (business users and others IT teams)

Problem management and continuous improvement

Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic direction

• Direct cluster-focused HIT solutions while enabling required alignment to IT technological governance, cybersecurity and strategic direction
• Support Institution Director in strategic IT planning and management that will address both cluster and institution’s imperatives and be aligned with national HIT directions

Workplan budgeting

• Collaborate with GCIO and Institution Director to identify IT strategic needs and projects for the cluster and consolidate into the workplan
• Input on high level pre-project assessment and feasibility studies to program
• Plan upcoming projects in conjunction with various stakeholders to ensure synergies for deployment
• Evaluate and prioritise cluster-specific projects for implementation to finalise projects for the work plan

Oversee project approval and delivery

• Manage stakeholders to obtain approval for projects from users
• Collaborate with Program and Project Delivery Teams to determine and manage project requirements and implementation approach, implementation details including technical knowledge, project staffing headcounts, project man-day costs for work plan
• Review risks to ensure that projects are completed on time, meeting requirements and within budget
• Conduct prioritization of projects in work plan and adhoc projects
• Oversee KTLO operations in institution to ensure that SLAs are met

3. Publish and enforce data definitions for established data subjects
4. Establish data contributor and data consumer onboarding processes with compliance to data governance policy, conduct onboarding with thorough quality assurance controls
