The National University of Singapore invites applications for research assistant/associates in the Multimodal Neuroimaging in Neuropsychiatric Disorders Laboratory (MNNDL), Center for Sleep and Cognition at the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The MNNDL group at NUS studies the human neural bases of cognitive functions and the associated vulnerability patterns in aging and neuropsychiatric disorders using multimodal neuroimaging and psychophysical techniques. We are interested in the large-scale brain structural and functional networks in healthy developing and aging brain and symptoms-related changes in diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders and psychosis. Statistical, computational, and machine learning methods are developed to analyze and fuse multimodal neuroimaging data. By integrating longitudinal behavior, neuroimaging, and genotype data, our long-term goal is to investigate the interactions among brain network dynamics, behavior, diseases, and genotypes to develop non-invasive biomarkers for early detection, differential diagnosis, progression monitoring, and treatment design.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will work closely with, the Principal Investigator, lab members, and collaborators to ensure smooth operation of computing servers/storage, efficient database management, and successful completion of research projects in the lab.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The research assistant will support the effort in conducting cutting-edge neuroscience and machine learning research and development. He/she has the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art neuroimaging techniques, data collection and analysis, with healthy participants and patients with neuropsychiatric diseases. He/she will be primarily engaged in computing server and storage administration (with support from external vendors), website maintenance, and neuroimage processing using automatic or semi-automatic scripts, and general IT management. The research assistant is expected to learn neuroimaging software and assist researchers in IRB application, data preprocessing and database management in various research projects. The research assistant/associate will have the opportunity to liaise and work with other collaborators across the institutes/hospitals in Singapore on research projects and contribute to the presentations and publications of research work. General Overview

This position is part of the Technical and Project Development Group providing contract administrative services to Technical and Project Development group. Duties and Responsibilities

5. Post-award contracts administration including payment verification and identification of non-compliance with the contract requirement.

Work Experience Requirements

• At least 10 years’ working experience in tender and contract administration in Oil & Gas, Construction, Marine or equivalent

Assessment, Recording & Reporting

• Keep detailed records of plans, and of achievements of individual students; developing, in conjunction with the year group, standardised forms of assessment and record keeping.
• Report to parents in accordance with the school’s reporting policy as laid down in the Staff Handbook.

Communication & Liaison

• Liaise with relevant members of the Personalised Learning Team to ensure that all individual student needs are understood, planned for and met.
• Attend and contribute to meetings of a professional nature as and when required.
• Work with the Class Teacher in contributing to the strengthening of the parent-teacher partnership.

Pastoral & Co-Curriculum

• Follow the school’s policies and procedures with regard to discipline and behaviour, daily routines, duties, home learning, leave of absence, and visits, as laid down in the Staff Handbook.
• Lead and organise instrumential music ensembles and choir as required.
• Lead and organise music concerts and events, and support the work of the wider department.

Description

HR management for expatriates in Asia

- Support all expatriates across the region in accordance with global policy and direction.

- Spearhead initiatives to improve HR operational efficiency and best practices on regional basis

- Ensure labour related compliance across the region.

- Liaise with all country HR Head in the region to drive HR initiatives to improve employees engagement

Reviewing of HR related regulations, policies and budget in collaborating with the business units and region.

- Work with Management and business units on optimizing organizational development.

- Liaise with all HR teams in the region to drive HR initiatives to improve employees engagement.

- Manage quarterly budget across the region to optimize and control staff cost

Coordination with Japan Headquarters

- Continue to build rapport and maintain a good relationship with the Japan headquarters for better support and collaboration.

- Reporting HR matters and provide analysis to the headquarter in Japan in a timely manner.

- Assist to cascade Japan headquarters’ initiatives and direction across the region.

Project management

- Manage HR related projects aiming at improving HR systems and human capital development.

Requirement

· Minimum 5 years Human Resources experience.

· Strong regional exposure

· Relevant experience in the same industry.

· At least a bachelor’s degree, preferable in HR Discipline.

· Possess good knowledge of HR functions (compensation & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)

· Solid knowledge on Singapore labour laws.

· Excellent written and verbal communication in Japanese as this role will need to liaise frequently with headquarters in Japan.

· Good project management skill.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Possess good disposition.
