As a Palo Alto Networks Specialist Cortex Systems Engineer, a Next-Gen AI-powered security operations platform, you will be the expert for the broader Cortex portfolio within our offerings.

The Cortex Specialist Systems Engineer is the interface between business and technology. Working closely both internally - with product and engineering to share feedback from the field, and externally - with our prospects and customers to understand their business needs and to design technical solutions that take the best advantage of the Cortex platform. With your colleagues, you will displace competing technologies and build market share - most importantly, help your client sleep at night as our product integrates to build secure digital transactions.

Your Impact

• Drive complex deals in the pre-sale stage, alongside sales engineers and sales reps

• Present to customers as our expert at all levels in the customer hierarchy from technician to manager

• Support the technical field sales engineer on POCs (proof of concept) – assist with the pre-sales process by answering technical questions, conducting POC evaluations, and working with engineering to bridge any gaps

• Work closely with product and engineering to debug and correct challenges encountered during POCs

• Training of the field sales engineers to present new features, product roadmap, new improvements, and sprint summary

• Create new demo scenarios and use cases

• Discuss complex platform architectures to prospects

• Respond effectively to RFIs/RFPs while serving as the main technical point of contact

Job Responsibilities

• Perform Level 2 Systems Administration in system monitoring, management, disaster recovery and capacity planning.
• Assist in performing on-prem and cloud system management in Microsoft, AIX, Virtual (VMWare or Hyper-V), Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud infrastructure such as Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
• Participate in the design, system set-up and configuration, implementation and deployment of new server and Azure Cloud Technologies.
• Plan and manage IT resources for tasks or projects including budgeting and capacity planning.
• Update technical documentation pertaining to systems administration for on-premise system, Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud infrastructure.
• Perform system maintenance, upgrade, patches and incident resolution outside of working hours when required.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• Experience in system support and server administration including implementing and managing Azure cloud infrastructure with strong understanding of Azure cloud technologies
• Hands-on experience on administrating Windows Server, Exchange, VMWare vSphere and Hyper-V on premise,
• Hands-on experience on administrating Microsoft 365 cloud technologies such as Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Intune.
• Hand-on experience with implementing and configuring Azure cloud technologies such as virtual machines, application services, load balancer, SQL Managed Instance, site to site VPN, storage solutions, network, security, logging and monitoring.
• Knowledge on AIX/ Unix and other IBM products. (IBM WebSphere MQ, WebSphere, Tivoli Storage Manager Backup) will be an advantage
