Astek is proposing an opportunity for Data Engineer (Big Data) to support our project based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Use big data technologies like Snowflake and work closely with the data science to help build complex algorithms that provide unique insights into the data using.
• Use agile software development processes to iteratively make improvements to the back-end systems
• Model front end and back-end data sources to help draw a more comprehensive picture of user flows throughout our system and enable powerful data analysis
• Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources
• Develop models that can be used to make predictions and answer questions for the overall business

Requirements

• At least 5 years of work experience as a data engineer or backend developer in a big data field.
• A good level of understanding for all Big Data components & Administration Fundamentals.
• Solid working knowledge of implementing the optimal data structures and algorithms to create efficient and scalable applications in Java or Python.
• Experience in application integration with Snowflake, Oracle and MS-SQL.
• Familiarity with Linux or Unix and shell scripting.
• Able to drive Devops best practices like CI/CD, containerization, blue-green deployments, 12-factor apps, secrets management etc in the Data ecosystem
• Skilled in big data and related technologies like Snowflakes, Spark, Presto, Airflow, Yarn etc.

• Coordinate and monitor service arrangement. (e.g Travel plans, accommodation, and other document application etc)

• Handle administration and paperwork (e.g Marketing research, Meeting mints, etc).

• Ensure efficient in assisting our clients with any requirements, handling feedback.

• Prepare for consultation and recommendation report when required

• Handle clients’ mails, messages, and answering phone calls.

• Supervise and ensure the smooth and efficient ongoing project.

• Supervise on project budget, schedule, and quality.

• Ensure clients receive an optimum level of service and care at all times.

• Ensure vigilance of any service discrepancies.

• Perform any other ad-hoc duty as requested by superior or management. Not limit to perform Household Duty (i.e Regularly monitor maintenance work, Financial record, and shopping list etc. )

Our Singapore based team addresses the daily chartering needs of major commodity trading houses, shipping operators, mining companies and shipping companies. The junior should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in Panamax and Capes size shipbroking practices.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in the creation and update tonnage & cargo lists;

· Voyage and time-charter calculations;

· Updating internal ships position system;

· Assist and help the exchange of market informations between Ifchor offices worldwide;

· Monitor market conditions and rates for the industry through all appropriate means in addition to keeping management appraised of upcoming major contracts and outcomes of tender awards;

· Provide schedule and manage several assistant to brokers;

· Maintain records or tonnage within the company’s database;

· Assisting Ship Broker on marketing of tonnage (ships) to customers/shippers/charterers. Negotiate spot/time charters to achieve maximum income for the owners.
