As a part of the NRF Fellowship Project on Materials-by-Design, School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) is looking to hire a Research Assistant with expertise in high-throughput synthesis of inorganic materials and optimization using machine learning. The Research Assistant will build upon our team’s experience toward developing high-throughput experimental platforms for synthesis, characterization and functional performance testing (thermoelectric performance, catalytic performance) of a library of materials.  The Research Assistant will focus on synthesizing and characterizing inorganic materials, specifically inorganic chalcogenides for thermoelectrics and metal alloy catalysts for CO2 reduction.

Additionally, the Research Assistant will conduct in-depth structural and elemental characterization and analysis of the materials using XRD, SEM-EDX and XPS. Finally, thermoelectric measurements experiments will be conducted. The Research Assistant should be able to utilize design-of-experiments and high-throughput experimental workflows. In addition, materials science and metallurgical concepts such as phase diagrams, mapping and separating different phases and oxidation states of compounds and rapid structural analysis are required. Finally, machine learning will be applied to guide experimental campaigns.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct synthesis of inorganic thermoelectric materials using various high-throughput synthesis techniques.

• High-throughput synthesis of materials for CO2 reduction will also be conducted.

• Develop new high-throughput methods, and accordingly modify hardware for their execution.

The Senior Executive, Governance and Quality Assurance, supports educational quality assurance processes and practices for the NTU Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery undergraduate programme at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. This position reports to Director, Education Management.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Reform

• Participate as Secretariat team member of the Curriculum Reform Committee (CRC) and its sub-groups and ensuring effective collaboration and implementation of curriculum reforms.

• Organise CRC and its sub-groups meetings and providing administrative and logistical support

• Assist in the preparation, compilation and dissemination of CRC and its sub-groups meeting package including meeting papers and slide deck

• Assist Chair, CRC in the conduct of meetings

• Draft minutes of CRC meetings and action plans for its sub-groups’ meetings

• Assist in monitoring follow-up actions

Curriculum Documentation

• Administer electronic filing infrastructure for NTU MBBS degree documentation

• Maintain version control of curriculum documentation

• Engage with internal stakeholders to plan and develop budget estimates for new degree programme, including operating expenses and expenditure on manpower

• Assist faculty and educators in compiling and documenting learning outcomes

• Collaborate with sub-groups, faculty and educators to collect, organise, and update course outlines, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies.

Programme Policies and Processes

• Collaborate with team leads in developing and reviewing MBBS degree programme policies and processes

• Monitor timeline for submission of revised policies and processes for approval at School and University-level committees

• Prepare student-facing versions of policies and processes for publication on student intranet

Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement

• Provide administrative support for national-level medical education quality assurance and quality improvement efforts

• Assist in preparation of quality assurance documentation for submission to Ministry of Health and Singapore Medical Council

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in education quality management

• Background in medical education and/or healthcare administration would be an advantage

• Knowledge of quality assurance frameworks and methodologies in higher education

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

• Experience in data management

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality TCM consultation and treatment services to patients.
• Generating revenue and creating patient loyalty for the clinic.
• Supervising students of the DD Programme on clinical internship and junior TCM Physicians
• Preparing graduating Biomedical Sciences students for the Singapore TCM Physician Registration Examination (STRE).
• Conducting TCM courses as part of Continuing Professional Education and sharing TCM knowledge and clinical experiences with registered TCM physicians.
• Conducting educational TCM talks and public-run courses to raise awareness about TCM.
• Serving as a clinical instructor and examiner to junior physicians in the clinic.

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Singapore Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner.
• At least 15 to 20 years of clinical experience, preferably with specialty in TCM Gynecology / Pediatrics / Mental disorders / Geriatrics / Oncology / Pain Management.
• Effectively bilingual and equipped with computer skills to manage electronic clinic system.
• Professional in conduct and appearance, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients.

The NTU Office of Admissions (OA), an office within the Students and Academic Services Department, is organised in the four key functional areas that support the university’s quest in recruiting quality students to pursue their undergraduate and/or graduate education.  These four areas are Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Talent Outreach and Marketing and Operations. ​

Responsibilities

• Create visually appealing designs (digital and printed) for admissions related publicity materials, such as brochures, postcards, eDMs, posters, banners, event e-invite etc.
• Assist to coordinate the production of admissions and scholarship brochures.
• Assist to update and seek clearance for contents of the Minimum Subject Requirement brochures.
• Assist in maintaining brand consistency across all design projects.
• Assist in checking all graphics related to the publicity of the Open House during design and production process, and on site for set-up day.
• Assist in preparing/updating SOP on production for all publications.
• Prepare and maintain proper records of design files, assets and projects documentation for all publications and graphics for events.
• Assist in event registration for outreach events.

Requirements

• Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in designing visuals/artwork for both printed and digital platform.
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory and motion graphics.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other design tools.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and web design.
