Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Application Engineer to join our team. As a System Application Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software applications and systems in the fields of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM), Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM), and Building Management Systems (BMS).
You will work closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and cross functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements. In addition to your expertise in system application, you need to possess a deep understanding of IT principles, networking, and system integration. The ideal candidate must have excellent technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
You will need to liaise with the client’s IT Infrastructure team for the recommended hosting environment for the provided systems. A clear articulation and consultative role in the required IT infrastructure model will be required as part of the daily conversation during the design, implementation and maintenance stages.
Selected candidate(s) should exhibit self-starter with a positive and professional attitude with the capability to work closely with the Consultancy, Sales and Project Team to support the needs and requirements of our customers. You should be familiar with the sales bidding/tender process including the various stages and the deliverables required.
Responsibilities
System Design and Integration:
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their monitoring platform system requirements, including security protocols, data centre infrastructure, building automation systems and integration needs.
Develop technical specifications and design the software architecture and components of PSIM, DCIM, and BMS systems. Ensure scalability, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems and industry standards.
Technology Assessment:
Ability to maintain and configure COTs products such as Genetec, Milestones, Advancis and Prysm.
Integrate software components with various systems, including security devices, network equipment, data centre infrastructure, and building automation systems.
Demonstrate understanding of CI/CD and Release Management process and the related activities.
Conduct thorough testing to ensure the system’s proper functionality, performance, and interoperability.
Write/Maintain efficient and maintainable code to implement the required functionality for PSIM, DCIM, and BMS systems. Utilize programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, and leverage appropriate frameworks and libraries.
Stay updated with the latest technologies, IT trends, and industry standards.
Project Leadership:
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to select the most suitable equipment and solutions for specific projects.
Documentation and Reporting:
Create comprehensive technical documentation, user manuals and installation guides as part of pre-sales, project and maintenance documentation, including system designs, equipment specifications, and as-built documentation.
Collaboration and Training:
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper network bandwidth, security, and quality of service to monitor required data and storage while ensuring efficient utilization of the computing and network resources.
Provide technical support and training to clients and end-users while ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution of customer concerns.
Requirements
Education:
Diploma/bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven experience of 3-5 years in system application development, system integration, and implementation.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of IT principles, networking protocols, and system integration.
Knowledge of PSIM, DCIM, or BMS concepts, protocols, and standards.
Familiarity with security systems, data centre infrastructure, and building automation systems.
Experience with software development frameworks and tools.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to including IM-8, ITSM and ASM.
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams.
