• Fix broken Science equipment. If not possible, organize for it to be fixed or replaced;

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI), National University of Singapore is a Research Centre of Excellence dedicated to interrogating biological systems from a physical and mechanical perspective. We are a multidisciplinary institute committed to developing new paradigms for biomedical research by focusing on the quantitative analysis of dynamic functional processes.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Yan Jie’s and Dr. Alexander Ludwig’s group to work on mechanotransduction mechanisms in polarized epithelial cells. This is a highly collaborative project involving three PIs at MBI as well as the group of Alexander Ludwig at the School of Biological Sciences (SBS), NTU Singapore. The aim of this project is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that sense and transmit mechanical forces from the apical surface of epithelial cells to the Hippo/YAP signalling pathway. A combination of in vitro force measurements, biochemical approaches, cell-based assays and live cell fluorescence imaging of mechanically perturbed cell monolayers will be used to tackle this question. The project and the position will begin in April 2024.

• Negotiates Long Term Supply Agreements (LTSA), NPI Agreements, and associated addendums, and monitors contractual compliance of the supplier as well as ASML.
• Drives continuous cost and lead time reduction.
• Take lead to manage suppliers’ QLTCS performance with SAT (“Supplier Account Team”) through review processes on regular basis, e.g. Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and Executive Review Meeting (ERM).
• Prepares supplier spending forecasts and monitors supplier financial health.
• Ensures all communication to the supplier is coordinated and consistent.
• Drives supply base rationalization within the categories.
• Participates in supplier overall capabilities audits and drives closure of findings and improvement plans.

Education and experience

• Graduate degree in physics, engineering or another technical field preferred.
• Background and/or practical understanding of optics and ceramics manufacturing is beneficial.
• Ideally, a minimum of 10-years' work experience, ideally in strategic procurement in a technology intensive industry.
• Business level English, additional regional language abilities beneficial.

• Prepare quality audit plan for ISO 17025 SAC Singlas and client’s audit
• Calibrate and maintain Gas Chromatography instruments, test methods in accordance with standard methods such as ASTM, IP, UOP, etc
• Prepare chemical stock solutions and reagents
• Standardize reagent/equipment
• Conduct Test Method Assessment
• Initiate, investigate and review quality improvement/corrective and preventive action
• Maintain SQC program
• Should have indepth knowledge in GC , GC-MS - able to maintain the instruments independently
• Setup new methods in accordance with standard methods
• Training new analyst on the new methods/instruments
• Upkeep the cleanliness of work areas, apparatus and equipment
• Perform any tasks as assigned by Laboratory Management

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent
• At least 3 years experience operating and maintaining GC and GC-MS
• Good spoken English and communication skills
