Job Description

As a Senior Cook you will be responsible for indian cuisine food preparation in the restaurant kitchen. Not only will you be required to oversee all dishes from start to finish, you are also tasked meeting health and safety standards and innovating up new recipes for the restaurant.

The Senior Cook must possess a lot of stamina and will power to be able to stand for long hours and work for extended hours too in order to experiment in creating new dishes.

The candidate should also possess good knowledge of food products and their availability in order to plan cuisine accordingly. Senior Cook should have good organizing, supervising and time management skills to be able to oversee all the activities that take place in the kitchen in a proper manner.

Key responsibilities:

1. Food preparation : Assist in preparing ingredients by washing, chopping & portioning vegetables, fruits & meats.
   Help prepare sauces, marinades & dressings.
2. Cooking assistant : Support the chef in basic cooking tasks.
   Help plate dishes & ensure presentation.
   Monitor & maintain cooking times.
3. Kitchen maintenance : Ensure work stations, utensils & kitchen equipment are kept clean & organized.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:

Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various kitchen machinery and equipment (e.g. ovens, mixers, refrigerators, freezers)
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot technical issues, and execute timely repairs.
• Recommend upgrades or replacements.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines ensuring a secure work environment.
• Complete job sheet reports accurately
• Drive from location to location in response to requests (Class 3)

Qualifications:

• Higher NITEC/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in machine maintenance, ideally within a commercial kitchen setting.
• Solid comprehension of various kitchen equipment, their components, and operational principles.
• Efficient in completing tasks, taking minimum time
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under pressure.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards related to machine maintenance
• Fluent in English for clear communication
• Organised in work
• Class 3 driver's license is preffered

Delivery and Performance:

• Assist with the production of budget estimates for project deliverables;
• Support the development of work plans and budgets for all activities in the project;
• Assist with and participate in internal and external reviews;
• Provide quality assurance support;
• Support the maintenance of all works efforts, to ensure they are delivered on time, to cost and quality standards;
• Seek to identify any project obstacles, barriers or any unanticipated risk events;
• Assist the PM to plan, monitor and evaluate project procurement;
• Ensure the integrity of financial and administrative operations in the project.

Method & Technical:

• Develop and implement construction methodologies and techniques specific to post-tensioning, Launching Gantry and Lifting Frame.
• Collaborate with clients to analyse project requirements and develop innovative solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement solutions in real-time.

Cost Control:

• Monitor project expenses and financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to optimize material and equipment purchases.

Project Control

• Track project execution by ensuring timely and adequate reporting;
• Monitor all project activities in relation to the respective project work plans and take corrective action, when necessary, to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of project outputs;
• Monitor project progress, identify improvement opportunities, assist with the revision of work plans and advice the project director of possible adjustments to meet the project objectives;
• Monitor contract obligations, develop management systems and accountabilities to ensure all contract obligations are tracked and met, including contractor and client contract obligations.

Safety and sustainability

• Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and practices;
• Assess inspections to ensure compliance with organisational health and safety policies, processes and procedures;
• Assess records of accidents and incidents against WSH policies and practices;
• Apply organisational environmental sustainability and green building standards and guidelines;
• Implement risk management plans and risk controls in alignment with organisation's risk management framework.

Personnel Management:

• Lead and motivate the project team;
• Ensure that performance reviews are conducted;

Qualifications and Experience Education

• University Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or other relevant discipline.

Languages

• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Work Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in project development.
• Experience in Bridge Project with erection works using specific Equipment (Launching Gantry, Lifting Frame) and Post-Tensioning system works.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that all operations conform to safety requirements and maintain high safety standards.

• Performs calibration of machining work pieces.

• NTC-3 or 2 certificate in metal machining or minimum three years in any metal machining companies.
