Summary

This position is located in the Food & Beverage (F&B) Division of the Morale, Welfare & Recreation Department (N92), Singapore Area Coordinator. The Food & Beverage Division includes multiple operations located at two locations. Programs include catering, Terror Club and Cafe Lah. Duties

The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of administrative and payroll related actions and tasks in support of the management functions of the Food & Beverage division.

• Arranging transport of deceased to and from embalming and funeral facilities
• Ensure cleanliness of equipment, holding room, preparation room and embalming room
• Embalming, dressing, cosmetically enhancing, and casketing of deceased
• Able to provide special embalming procedures should there be a requirement for management of infectious diseases and/or overseas transportation
• Manage the incoming deceased to ensure all bodies are treated with respect and care
• Proper labelling and recording of bodies, materials and inventories according to regulatory guidelines
• Ensure embalming facility and processes adhere to all existing regulatory guidelines
• Able to assist as pallbearers where required
• Provide training to junior embalmers / trainees as when necessary
• Any other ad-hoc duties, as assigned

Skills & Experience:

• At least 3 years’ experience as an embalmer
• Relevant qualifications to provide embalming services in Singapore
• Proficient in all aspects of embalming process, including final processes like cosmetics application and / or reconstruction of bodies with appropriate techniques and materials.
• Industry Knowledge of religious, cultural, customs practices
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Excellent organisation skills to ensure proper care and management of the deceased and the embalming facility
• Conversant with basic computer software
• Physically fit to work as embalmer
