The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore is currently seeking 1-2 skilled Research Fellows to join Prof. Sibudjing Kawi's dynamic team. Ideal candidates will have a robust background in plasma catalysis, particularly in projects related to methane coupling. This role involves not only exploring and identifying optimal catalysts and conditions for plasma-catalytic methane conversion into valuable olefins but also designing innovative methodologies to detect reaction intermediates and products, such as optimal emission spectroscopy and plasma-DRIFTS. The Faculty of Law of the National University of Singapore (NUS Law) is one of the premier places for legal research in Asia. It has an active research culture with seven research centres, an intense and diverse array of research events and seminars, and large numbers of eminent researchers visiting it from around the world. In 2023, the Law School was ranked 9th globally by the Times Higher Education and 12th in the world by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

We invite applications for Post-Doctoral Fellowship positions commencing in AY2024-2025. These Post-Doctoral Fellowship positions may be held generally within NUS Law or, for candidates with appropriate backgrounds and expertise, within one of the Centres at the Law Faculty.

Successful applicants will commence their Fellowships at the start of August 2024 and conclude them at the end of July 2025.

Benefits

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Senior Research Fellow in the Synthetic Biology Translational Research Program (TRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments will be made on 1-Year contract basis.

Purpose of the post

The Senior Research Fellow will be responsible for, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and a team of researchers on the goals set out for the projects of interest. The SRF’s principal role will be to work on enhancing tools of the Enzyme Function Initiative at National University of Singapore (EFI@NUS), as part of the SynBio-AI Innovation Accelerator of the National Centre for Engineering Biology. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our understanding of complex biological systems through the application of advanced bioinformatics techniques. The ideal candidate will have expertise in quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS), and imputation analysis. The role also requires the candidate to work closely with other stakeholders such as but not limited to: NUS SynCTI, NSCC, University of Illinois, AI.SG, NCEB.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Research Fellow is expected to involve, but not limited to, the following:

1. Genomic Analysis:Proficiency in analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) datasets, including whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and whole-exome sequencing (WES).
   Variant calling expertise, covering single nucleotide variants, structural variants, and copy number variants.

Quality Assurance Specialist is to promote and integrate quality into every aspect of our BioReliance® biologics safety testing business in Singapore. The role is to perform batch record review (i.e. data audits) to support all aspects of quality operations to ensure that laboratory testing operates in full compliance with sound scientific practice, GxP and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The scope of responsibility is to contribute or impact the results of the QA team and is accountable for the quality of own work, solve problems of low complexity independently by identifying and selection solutions and by analyzing information.

The post holder will be able to perform the following functions independently, with minimal guidance.

What You Do

• Batch record review: Review and approval of GxP documents, including Protocols, Technical Specification (TS), Batch Records, Workbooks, SOPs and all other QMS documentation.
• Batch record review: Comply with all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Batch record review: Conduct in-process or final audits and approval on manufacturing or testing documentation as they comply with the stated regulatory standards and the approved TS, protocol or SOPs.
• Batch record review: Release of the certificate of analysis for GMP testing against the TS and associated documentation.
• Batch record review: Prepare QA statement within each GLP final report specifying inspections date, and dates findings were reported to the Study Director and management.
• Review and approve deviations, anomalous results, OOS, positive results and CAPAs.

• Conduct trend analysis for deviations and review / approve applicable CAPA records.
• Assist self-inspections to ensure continuous improvement.

• Comply with Health and Safety Executive regulations and undergo relevant training modules when required and actively takes necessary action when encountering unsafe situations.
