Business Context

Unilever Asia Private Limited (UAPL) is one of Unilever’s Global Operating Hubs based in Singapore.

As part of its hub structure, UAPL hosts several key centralised business models (CBMs) under its roof - namely Unilever International, Global Procurement Operations for Raw Material and Finished Goods, Global Commodity Risk Management and the Global Marketing Category/Brand teams.

Brief

UAPL Finance is recruiting an Assistant Finance Manager - Treasury reporting directly to the UAPL Finance Operations Manager within the Controllers team. He/She will be the main Treasury lead for UAPL whose role will involve both managing of Treasury Operations as well as implementing Strategic initiatives as driven by Global or business-initiated requirements.

The successful candidate will be supported by an offshore team and will also be in regular contact with the Global Treasury team on strategic initiatives and ongoing policy update and compliance.

This role will require engagement beyond Finance and active involvement in strategic initiatives and projects. This will involve regular interactions with various stakeholders across the different business models and also externally with Unilever’s partner banks and insurance providers, thus providing visibility and an excellent learning ground for the individual to strive and succeed.

Main Accountabilities

Exposure management

Manage FX exposure across the different business models under UAPL. These include:

• Monitor and manage forex exposure within exposure limit; manage forward covers within existing authority limits and pro-actively consult beyond these limits
• Continuously improve on forecast basis of hedging and provide better hedging analytics
• Responsible for observing Forex limits and ensuring compliance to global treasury policies
• Ensure all transactions are completed in accordance with the Schedule of Authorities and are properly documented.

Lead Cash Forecasting and Liquidity Management

Ensure Unilever’s financial assets are safe guarded and used efficiently. These include:

• Lead and review cash forecasting for UAPL across the short, medium and long-term and planning relevant funding requirements.
• Evaluate opportunities to maximize long-term returns on excess liquidity.
• Partner the colleagues from various Business Models to drive improvements in working capital by highlighting opportunities to extend supplier financing for other currency purchases and support in extracting favorable financing rates for the business.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings or increase returns on excess cash.

Banking

• Lead and work with Global Treasury to ensure adequate facilities are available to meet existing and future business funds requirements
• Develop and maintain effective operational network with key Banks/Financial Institutions to ensure smooth operations and harness opportunities
• Responsible for administer role for Bank related systems (HSBCNet) and Payment Schedule of Authority
• Co-ordinate and ensure documentation in place to transact with Banks (facilities letter, documentation, director's resolution etc)

Financial Accounting

Ensure accurate and timely internal reporting for both statutory and internal reporting of the Treasury function. These include:

• Manage Cap Gemini (offshore team) for Treasury outsourced activities.
• Review journals on Interest charges, bank charges, Unilever Finance International (UFI) sweep and fund transactions, Loans, FX differences arising out of settled FX contracts, settlement of payments and collections, revaluation & mark to market on open FX contracts.
• Analyze and ensure timely completion of Treasury reports (FX exposures, currency trends, Cash Forecast, actual cash flows; hedging requirements).

Governance and Compliance

Maintain policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury operations. These include:

• Responsible for the Treasury Policy compliance and the simplification of the actual operation, aligning to the Global Model.
• Responsible for liaising with audit teams on OCA, SOX, Corporate and external audits for all treasury areas
• Lead monthly reviews with Cap Gemini to ensure quality delivery of outsourced operations and to progress on the agreed continuous improvement initiatives to deliver best in class process

Insurance Management

As the key liaison to the global team and external service providers, responsible for insurance and risk management areas and provide decision support and financial insight of insurable operational and hazard risks to UAPL

• Completion of annual Global Insurance collection for UAPL and ensuring all subsequent questions are resolved so that adequate coverage is retained.
• Responsible for supporting stakeholders in claims and liaising with service providers on all insurance matters.

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on Virology, Immunology or Antibody Engineering in the Infectious Diseases Translational Research Programme (ID TRP) and the Department of Biochemistry, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. ID TRP and Biochemistry are pooling efforts of prominent scientists from multiple disciplines and committed to human infectious diseases closely relevant to Singapore and the region. Purpose of the post

Working in the group of Assistant Professor Qu Kun at the ID TRP and the Department of Biochemistry (https://medicine.nus.edu.sg/bch/faculty/qu-kun/), the Research Fellow will conduct a project aimed at understanding the immune response of respiratory viruses. The Qu lab is funded by the Presidential Young Professorship start-up award, National Medical Research Council Young Individual Research Grant, and Ministry of Education Academic Research Funds. We decipher dynamic and elusive viral infection mechanisms using cryo-electron microscopy, tomography and subtomogram averaging. The Research Fellow is expected to:

· Lead a team of 2 Retail supervisors for SG and TH markets, coordinate directly OSEA (MY, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam) markets and a team of 34 BAs across all different markets

· Ensure service excellence across all POS and by grooming the best BA team

· Work closely with Area Sales Director to identify business opportunities in the fast-paced environment

Main Accountabilities:

Retail management

· Define and plan retail strategy based on global and regional priorities via monthly planning

· Work in close collaboration with Area Sales Manager TR SEA to ensure suitable level of stock is available at all POS and to manage Sales target, how to deliver, what tools to use/ activate, growth drivers – to be presented and validated by Area Sales Director

· Put in place BA incentives and mechanism to drive sales within brand guidelines and strategy. Monitor/ Follow-up/ adjust when necessary

· Prepare monthly report with competition analysis, best practice on the market, operators’ activities, key information on the retail trends in the region to be shared during monthly team meeting

· Retail sales and Retail KPI’s follow-up via internal tools (Retail dashboard, CRM Aurora, Art of Perfection tracking, Art of Beauty KPI’s)

· Build strong work relationship and partnership with store management

· Roll-out of CRM regional initiatives with the support of Retail Supervisors

· Be the retail expert for the territory with quarterly presentations to top management (with support of Area Sales Director)

· Handle if any customer complaints/ liaise with Customer service and Clients affair case by case

Brand image and VM

· Work with SDVM team for all store visuals/ theme changeover per store, update planograms accordingly – ensure good implementation is done

· Coordinate with SDVM team and support for store renovation and openings

· Support team with installation report of new fixture

· Responsible for execution of Outposts and animations, VIP events with the support of Retail Supervisors

· Reports all required information and pictures to management.

· Ensure brand image is well respected online and offline

BA Management

· Ensure BA headcount is fulfilled in all locations and high motivation is delivered consistently throughout the year

· Work closely with Education Manager and Retail coach to fill the gaps in Education needs (per market, per BA if needed)

· Acquire brand and product knowledge to be a relay of information to BA’s (on top of Education team)

· Motivate and Care for the team by increasing engagement and loyalty to the brand

· Work closely with Retail supervisors to ensure all key messages are cascaded down to BAs as per brand guidelines

· Ensure Art of Perfection at counter and Art of Beauty in Facial Cabins have clear KPI’s and targets are reached on monthly basis

Role and Responsibilities

• To carry out in vitro or in vivo research on tocotrienols/phytonutrients/oleochemicals for various human health applications;
• To conduct human clinical trials in collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs);
• Publish scientific manuscripts in international journals;
• Work closely with fellow researchers in the R&D for effective project implementation;
• Make presentation on projects within and outside the company;
• Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment;
• Perform inventory update for laboratory consumables and trial materials;
• Perform general maintenance of the lab facilities;
• To build up in-house database of research results of tocotrienols and other necessary products;
• Any other tasks/projects as assigned to you by the Head of Biological Research from time to time.

Job Success Requirements

• Master or Ph.D. in Biology/Biological Sciences/Biomedical Sciences or equivalents with at least 3 to 5 years working experience
• Have extensive bench work experience in biological research in mammalian cell culture, genomic & proteomic analysis. The lab techniques require including qPCR, cDNA microarray, western blotting, ELISA assay, flow cytometry, fluorescence imaging;
• Preferably the candidate has knowledge and prior experience in clinical trial management and coordination;
• Proven publication record in international scientific peer-reviewed journals;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and uses data to generate ideas and develop solutions;
• Have thorough understanding & fundamental concepts in biology and pharmacology for experimental troubleshooting & optimization;
• Be highly motivate, independent and present strong interest in a fast-paced environment;
• Competent in Microsoft Office, bibliography software (Endnote or Mendeley), GraphPad Prism, SPSS or other analytical tools.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English
