The Role Responsibilities
Financial Markets Middle Office provides value added services to the global FM business across US, Europe and Asia.
Collectively we:
· Enable: We contribute to increased Sales & Trading productivity through effective trade and post trade operational support
· We are trusted advisors for the business and take responsibilities for front to back trade exception management and resolution
· Protect: We are responsible or the correct risk representation at point of capture and throughout the trade lifecycle
· We are product specialists and ensure new products and new business opportunities are effectively operationalized
· Improve: We adopt a continuous improvements mindset and strive to reduce Cost per Transaction through continuously challenging the status quo
· We focus on Trade Capture STP improvement to mitigate fraud and operational risk and deliver scalable services back to the business.
· Connect: We are accountable and responsible for all T0 activities and act as a conduit between Front Office and the other enablement ad operation teams
· We act as a Global Team and communicate clearly and with respect in line with SCB values
Strategy
· Single point of contact for all strategy, cost and planning decisions for the Global FM MO LT and ELT
New business enablement and solutions, partner to deliver strategic FM initiatives:
· Drive Operational readiness for new business areas
· Lead the execution and delivery of the location strategy for MO
· Lead strategic planning process with business units and prioritize business development requirements to completion
· Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Standard Chartered, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Business
· Coordinate and lead the change agenda for Middle Office across the global team, collaborate with Asset Class and product heads to ensure consistency in change management approach, framework and benefits calculation
· Coordinate and lead the FM Middle Office Governance Framework roll out: partner with Products and Regional leads to ensure a consistent approach toward risk and controls.
· Support the Head of Global FM Middle Office in strategy execution and roll out. Establish a governance model to ensure key milestones are delivered within budget and agreed timelines
· Coordinate and lead the budget and spending review for the global team. This requires:
· Ability to monitor and coordinate hiring of new FTEs and backfills across the global team
· Monitor operating expenses and ensure adherence with department targets
· Monitor and validate benefits realization linked to right shoring initiatives and investment spent
Risk Management
Business Insight and MIS:
· Lead the design and implementation of core KPI and KRI for the Global FM MO team
· Lead the design and implementation of core STP data across regions and products
Adherence to Ops Risk Framework standards of implementation and process management:
· Lead and Support the continuous review of procedures and booking model
· Lead and Support the continuous management of process taxonomy and service catalogue
· Lead and support yearly completion of RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment)
Governance
· Well Managed Business and Cost Optimization
· Oversight and Cost management of annual budget
· Monitor Profit and Loss (P&L), expense managements, budget, and planning
Ensure alignment with broader FMO objectives around cost optimization through:
· Intelligent use of location strategy (leveraging on the FM MO Centre of Excellence in India and Malaysia)
· Definition of Change levers to enable strategic cost transformation (Automation, replatforming, outsourcing etc.)

Our Ideal Candidate
· 10+ Years of experience in Banking / Financial Markets
· Experience in FM Middle Office
· Coordinate and lead the change agenda for Middle Office across the global team, collaborate with Asset Class and product heads to ensure consistency in change management approach, framework and benefits calculation
· Coordinate and lead the FM Middle Office Governance Framework roll out: partner with Products and Regional leads to ensure a consistent approach toward risk and controls
