To support the research for the project of “THz metasurfaces”, EEE is seeking to hire a responsible research fellow for the coordination, lab management and assistance of the research project of THz nanophotonics for sensing and imaging applications.

The Research Fellow will work on a project to conduct the research on development of nanophotonic structures for THz applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and develop theoretical models for THz nanophotonics for sensing and imaging applications.
• Apply numerical models, design photonic chips and measurement of the research above.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to joint research projects.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Optical/Device Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with nanophotonics.
• Excellent publication records will be preferred.
• Experience in matlab, MEEP, RCWA and other softwares and algorithms.
• Good understanding of THz sensing and imaging.
• Strong knowledge of optical physics, while experimental experience would be preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to scientific rigor.

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

This will be a 1 year contract and renewal is subjected to work performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out research works on climate-change impact assessment, data assimilation, climate downscaling, bias correction, GIS analysis, statistical analysis etc.
• Coordinate project report preparation
• Publish journal papers
• Work with other researchers in discussions, workshops, and project deliverables

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Water Resources Engineering or related fields
• A good academic publication record
• Familar with GIS, MATLAB, python, machine learning, statistical analysis etc.
• Working experience is not necessarily required but a multi-year post-doc experience will be a plus

Responsibilities

• Responsible for full spectrum of the supply chain including purchasing process (sourcing, quotation enquiry, price negotiation, placement of orders and delivery arrangement), logistics coordination and management and inventory monitoring.
• Issue purchase orders (PO), updating inventory receiving and issuance, receiving purchase orders, suppliers' invoices verification as a backup function, and liaising with Finance Team
• Analyse inventory and implement solutions to improve inventory turnover.
• Ensure the smooth supply chain operations of the company, identifying gaps and inefficiencies in current processes, and implementing process changes and improvements to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Logistics coordination for timely arrival of components and expediting orders with planning.
• Sourcing suppliers and purchase electrical equipment, spare parts, and other electronic components.
• Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without excessive stockpiling and conduct stock take semi-annually.
• Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvement in the procurement function.

Qualifications

• Min Diploma in business/ supply chain management or other related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in procurement/ purchasing.
• Experience in freight forwarding will be an added advantage.
