Skills and Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in security engineering, with a dedicated focus on data security field and at least 5 years of direct people management experience.
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or equivalent advance technology field of study
• Relevant cyber security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA and/or PMP are highly desired
• Must be skilled at mentoring and motivating staff, communicating goals and other corporate initiatives and driving to results
• Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations and guidelines such as GDPR, CCPA, PCI, etc.
• Extensive experience building data protection programs in e-commerce or related industries, with strong working and practical knowledge of cloud, network, endpoint, application, and IDM.
• Experience building data driven security metrics to support security operations.
• Experience with change management and development lifecycles, and regular preparation of management status and executive reports
• Strongly process and procedure oriented in managing projects

PURPOSE:

The position supports the regional growth of Radisson Hotel Group Asia Pacific in Southeast Asia & Pacific (SEAP) and protects its legal interests by (i) overseeing and facilitating the development and administration of management, franchise, operating and other contracts and agreements and (ii) managing and resolving legal issues arising operationally, as appropriate, and consistent with company policies.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on NDAs, confidentiality agreements, MOUs / LOIs, term sheets, notices, letter agreements, hotel management, license and ancillary contracts with potential hotel partners.
• Support the SEAP Legal team in advising, collaborating and executing various strategic projects involving key business stakeholders (including strategic partnerships, business innovation and other similar matters) to guide and support the business teams from a legal perspective.
• Support the SEAP Legal team in liaising closely with the Development team to identify and remove barriers to contract negotiation and execution, in accordance with company’s standards and policies. This includes leading the review of background checks, conducting due diligence on potential hotel partners and providing summaries of findings.
• Support the SEAP Legal team in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising the Operations team on contracts and other legal matters arising from hotel operations, including ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements before hotel opening.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise other teams (when necessary) on employment contracts, sales and marketing contracts and various contracts with business partners and service providers, from a corporate level and hotel level where appropriate.
• Ensure that contracts adhere to company’s policies and standards and report material deviations for approval by Radisson Hotel Group, Asia Pacific leadership team.
• Obtain and evaluate legal advice and counsel from local attorneys who are expert in hotel development and management contract, licensing and other operational issues when needed.
• Assist Director, Legal Counsel, SEAP in implementing policies, procedures and best business practices and ensure understanding and compliance by relevant departments.
• Liaise and supervise corporate regulatory matters of subsidiaries, including coordinating board meetings and shareholders’ meetings, drafting resolutions / POAs (where necessary), and generally ensuring statutory compliance with relevant company laws.
• Coordinate with RHG Legal department globally where needed, including on administration of trademark rights/registration and liaising with external trademark agent or counsel in respect of such filings/registrations (including any change or renewal thereto) with trademark authorities where necessary.
• Act as primary liaison to and supervise external corporate secretarial providers for statutory / secretarial matters, including for coordination of annual and other statutory filings of group companies.
• Overseeing administration of corporate database network and system, including the uploading, updating and maintenance of contractual terms, change of terms, owner / licensee information and monitoring/tracking of contract status (such as construction milestones and contract/LOI expiry dates).
• Write and distribute contract summaries to ensure all relevant departments understand key contract terms and conditions, where required.
• Coordinate contract database process to ensure accurate and timely tracking of key contract terms, conditions, changes, timelines, and owner information.
• Assist in coordinating response and settlement of legal disputes (e.g., debt recovery, breach of contract, court litigation, arbitration) including, when appropriate, the selection and supervision of external counsel.
• Other miscellaneous work as assigned by supervisor.
• Must, at all times, work in a safe and harassment free manner with respect for all other Radisson colleagues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor/Master of laws from a reputable university.
• Admitted to practice in one or more jurisdictions (including from a common law jurisdiction).
• 1 to 2 years of solid experience in corporate and commercial law (licensing or corporate real estate law an advantage but not required) with a major local or international law firm (preferably with multi-jurisdictional scope in Asia Pacific, servicing international clients).
• Hospitality industry related legal experience an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Hard working, strong legal drafting and negotiation skills, strong communication skills, well-organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent team player with a self-starter mindset.
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Corporate secretarial knowledge and experience is an advantage.
