Duties & Responsibilities:
• Grasps procedures, work orders, blueprints, and set-up sheets and receives verbal work instructions to strategize the job layout with minimal set-ups.
• Arranges machine as needed using specified detail and operating procedures.
• Swiftly reports any operational issues or safety concerns regarding machinery, tools, or equipment to Line Leader.
• Actively engages in and upholds a high level of 5S.
• Safely executes all tasks and ensures all employees are aware of hazards in the work zone.
• Practices proper housekeeping in designated areas and appropriately disposes of waste in accordance with safety and environmental policies.
• Capable of setting up tools with minimal guidance. Gathers necessary tooling and fixture or initiates order if required.
• Identifies the material type in use and adjusts or modifies tooling call-outs, offsets, speeds, and feeds to accommodate material variations.
• Executes the majority of machining operations necessary to finish the part. Consistently achieves or surpasses manufacturing, safety, and quality goals.
• May conduct additional operations on products such as cleaning, deburring, stamping, and sanding.
Requirements
• Holds a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing and mechanical environments.
• Possesses a NITEC in Precision Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Capable of utilizing basic measuring instruments, gauges, and measuring techniques.
• Able to adhere to instructed job layouts and operate Lathe/Turn-Mill machines. Proficiency in operating 4½ and 5-axis machines is advantageous.
• Competent in calculating, setting, and adjusting machining parameters (speeds, feeds, depths of cuts, tapers, etc.).
• Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings with multiple views and machining surfaces.
• Must be available to work 12-hour rotational shifts.
• Capable of supervising a team of 5 machinists.
