MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Vessels Cargo System Specific Responsibility

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all the ship’s Cargo and Ballast related equipment. He is to assist the Chief Officer in the operation of the ship’s cargo equipment, keep the Chief Officer advised of any bunker, lubricating oils or sludge transfers which may affect the ship’s trim, stress and/or stability.

The Chief Engineer together with the Shipboard Management Team is also jointly responsible for:

• Adherence to, and continuous improvement of, the VMS

• Ensuring that Engineer Officers and crew are well informed of the VMS requirements generally, and specifically, where procedures affect their work

• As a Platform Engineer, your role is to design, develop, and maintain distributed applications using the Oracle Tuxedo middleware platform and other technologies.

• Prepare method statement, risk assessment, construction drawing, catalogue submission, safe work procedure and all other documents as requested by site.
• Plan, manage and coordinate all site matters, ensuring compliance to Project specifications, regulations and schedules.
• Technical specification review and recommend appropriate resolution.
• Directs, supervises and train technicians on engineering activities on site to meet all project requirements.
