This role is responsible for designing portions of engineering solutions, developing and implementing parameters and test plans, and conducting feasibility studies

Responsibilities
• Designs portions of engineering solutions for mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
• Develops and implements parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, developing fan curves, system power measurements & acoustics.
• Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs.
• Performs root cause analysis of defects, propose, evaluate and implement solutions.
• Works in a collaborative environment to design, analyze, build and test mechanical components, devices, structures and assemblies, including mechanical ground support equipment.
• Participates as a member of project team of other mechanical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low to moderate to complex products.
• Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, on mechanical and thermal design and development, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
• Manages design engineering change notifications/engineering change approval request processes, qualification tests, and schedule.
• Manages value engineering project proposals, schedule, tests, and communication.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design and solutions, implementation across hardware development lifecycle, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.

Client is a public corporation seeking to hire a 2-year Mechanical Project Engineer.

Your new role

The role is to be based at Senoko, in Singapore. The role includes the planning and management of a programme of Mechanical and mixed trades projects carried out on the facilities operated and maintained by the company, ensuring that all work is executed on time and to budget/estimates and in full compliance with company standards and applicable legislation.

The Mechanical Project Engineer will have responsibility for all stages of development and implementation of several projects and/or engineering across the Singapore estate.

• Lead the management and inspection of Static Equipment to include pipelines, tanks, vessels, and associated equipment.
• Develop Mechanical scopes of work at concept, FEED, and detailed design level,
• Develop budgets and forecasts for programme of work,
• Liaise with other members of the Asset Technical Team on standards & codes,
• Produce detailed programme of works/Gantt charts etc,
• Working knowledge of COMAH, MOC, and CDM regulations,
• Previous experience of managing multiple site works.
• Supervise and function as client’s representative on tank inspection works

What you'll need to succeed

• Have extensive experience of leading direct and indirect technical engineering projects and Stakeholder groups / teams engaged in the delivery of complex projects within demanding time, quality, and cost constraints,
• Able to demonstrate good management / people relationship skills, in particular team management and dealing with Contractors,
• Solid understanding of good project management principles; able to act as an “intelligent client.”
• Working knowledge of current local legislation and best practice relating to industry such as API, EEMUA, ASME, ATEX, BS, PSLG, COMAH, CDM etc.

Our Water Business would like to hire a Mechanical Engineer to be part of the team managing Mechanical matters for the extension project of a water plant in Tanah Merah, Singapore. This is an on-site position, work across all contracts to monitor, support, and guide the implementation of all mechanical works either designed by the Consultant or by the Contractors including the procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of all the mechanical-related works. The role will work closely with the Electrical and ICA engineers within the project team as well as the discipline leads in Jacobs.

To be a successful candidate, you shall possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; RE registration is not a must, but will be an added advantage.
• Between 5 and 10 years of relevant experience in the mechanical design and construction of infrastructure projects in Singapore. Experience in the design and implementation of mechanical works including site testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Experience in generating/reviewing Design Calculations related to Mechanical Equipment and Accessories.
• Willingness to be initially based at the site office and progressively build up a career to be a future lead mechanical engineer within Jacobs.

The Project Engineer (Mechanical) is responsible for managing the installation of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) system in buildings.

This role involves leading a team of competent supervisors and skilled workers in procuring materials, equipment and manpower, coordinating with stakeholders, installation of the ACMV system as well as conduct of testing and commissioning of the ACMV system.
