Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Cell Manufacturing, shall lead the manufacturing process definition, and industrialization, including brown and or green field start-up, and hand over to general management operations within the factory once full ramped to sustaining operations. The successful candidate shall work closely with Research Design & Development (RDD) engineering, facilities, equipment suppliers, and other, to define the specifications required for manufacturing of battery cell and battery pack manufacturing. This position plays a pivotal role in optimising and streamlining specific production processes to ensure efficient operations. The role involves analysing existing processes, identifying bottlenecks, planning implementation, monitoring and providing solutions to enhance productivity and quality. It is also expected to lead the team of Manufacturing Engineers to study the engineering fundamentals of materials, process and equipment design interactions through systematic design of experiments or troubleshooting methodologies, to achieve the final product design specifications, as well as quality, yield, safety and reliability. Additionally, the role shall deliver a value driven manufacturing engineering strategy, ensuring the most efficient and most sustainable investment return for Dyson. The role is based in South East Asia, leveraging Dyson’s production equipment suppliers to mass produce the Dyson’s energy storage solutions, meeting compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines.

About the role:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in material, polymer, chemical, electrochemical engineering or other relevant fields related to process and material fundamentals. Minimum 12 years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering, high volume manufacturing organization preferably with high precision automated manufacturing exposure.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role in factory operations or mass production environment.
• Strong knowledge in battery cell manufacturing, especially in process engineering, integration and yield enhancement in Electrode and/or Separator fabrication.
• Experience in new product transition to manufacturing and industrialization process involving concepts and feasibilities, pilot lines and manufacturing scale up validation testing.
• Strong cross functional people and management experience in a fast-paced technology. environment, developing novel process and test methods.
