As the Manager/Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure at the World Aquatics Championships 2025, you play a pivotal role as the first point of contact, collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders, vendors, and the project team. You shall oversee and ensure sufficient provision of technology infrastructure, equipment and network requirements for the event. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and connectivity of IT systems and equipment to deliver a world-class event experience for broadcast, athletes, officials, spectators, and media. Your responsibilities include comprehensive oversight of IT equipment, from procurement, ​​implementation to maintenance and system optimization, to ensure alignment with the organization's needs and standards.
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, You will,
1. Overview
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define network, IT infrastructure and equipment requirements, and develop comprehensive project plans to meet the technological needs of the event.
Plan, implement, and manage the full network coverage of the event, ensuring reliable and seamless connectivity across all event venues and operational areas.
Ensure seamless connectivity and network coverage across all event venues, including competition arenas, broadcast and media centres, uniform and accreditation centre and administrative areas.
Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
​​​2. Equipment Procurement
Understand and define the network specifications to meet the requirement of different functional area’s (i.e. Broadcast, Media, TSR & etc).
Oversee the supply, ​​setup, and maintenance of IT equipment required for the event, including hardware, software, and networking devices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to select IT equipment aligning with organizational needs.
Assist in researching, evaluating product specifications, and supporting contract negotiations for cost-effective procurement.
​​​3. Equipment Installation and Configuration
Oversee the installation, configuration, and connectivity of IT equipment for proper integration.
​​Collaborate with IT teams and vendors for seamless implementation.​​​
​​Ensure IT Systems are secure, scalable and meet event requirement.​
4. Maintenance and Support
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential technology-related disruptions and ensure the reliability and stability of IT systems and equipment during the event.
Establish maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
Provide technical support and ​​manage vendors in issue resolution to minimize downtime.
​​​Develop and maintain documentation of all related processes and procedures.
​​​Recommend and evaluate technology upgrades and refresh to maintain optimal performance and security.
5. Security and Compliance
Collaborate with IT security teams to implement security measures and ​​provide assistance in security investigations to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
6. Vendor Management
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers.
Negotiate service contracts and ensure effective communication for timely support and maintenance ​​according to service levels.
7. Budget and Asset Management
Manage the IT equipment budget, forecast expenses, and optimize spending.
Assist in implementing equipment asset management strategies, including monitoring lifecycles and tracking inventory.
8. Knowledge Management
Maintain records of equipment inventory, maintenance, and service contracts.
Prepare regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and compliance status.
9​. Research and Emerging Technologies
Stay updated on IT equipment trends and emerging technologies and implement strategies to align IT equipment with emerging technologies.
Assist in evaluating new products and recommending innovative solutions for operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations and communications, preferably in sports or large-scale events, along with 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong ability to write and engage with stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with the aquatic sports industry is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel as needed during the event, including weekends and holidays.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as and when directed by Project Director.
