Assistant Cook Job description

The assistant cook will prepare meals and follow establishment recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the restaurant menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff and deliver food in a fast-paced environment. Work may include operating a grill, oven, or fryer. Previous experience in a team environment and various cooking methods preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Setting up, cleaning, and organizing work stations

• Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.

• Roti prataflour mixing

• Making Varieties of RotiPrata (egg prata, Bananprata, coin prata,etc.,)

• Making Varieties of Dosai (Masaladosai, Ravadosai,Plaindosai, specialdosai,Geedosai. etc.,)

• Making Chappathi and Chappathi flour mixing

• preparation of south indian& north indian curies

• Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system

• Cooking order according to food health and safety standards

• Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes

• Handling multiple food orders at one time

• Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive

• Dressing order for presentation

• Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides

• Delivering food order to wait staff in a timely manner

• Storing all food properly

• Sanitizing and cleaning work stations and utensils

• Reordering stock and food supplies

• Monitoring other cooks and team members

• Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed

Requirements and Qualifications

• Ready to work any shift

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift

• Self-motivated and self-directed

• Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks

• Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders

• High school degree or equivalent

• Previous experience as a busboy, cook, or relevant work experience

• Legally able to work in establishments which serve alcohol

• Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends

• Must pass a background check

• Able to read and write

The role

We're looking for an individual to work within a dynamic shipping company. The position offers the opportunity to learn & develop, providing ‘front of house’ duties, general office administration, and housekeeping within the office.

Summary of responsibilities

Guest Management

• Maintaining professional, clean, and welcoming office facilities for external and internal meetings.
• Coordinate desk setups for overseas visitors and new joiners.
• Administration of all access passes for new joiners and visitors.
• Welcoming visitors/ guests and providing refreshments
• Organize contractors / vendors appointments
• Answer and manage multi-line telephone system
• Attend to all courier and dispatch requirements for both incoming as well as outgoing posts

Office Administration

• Coordinate bookings of meeting rooms and maintain overall cleanliness of the meeting rooms and reception area.
• Maintain supplies of the Office Pantry, corporate stationery and business cards
• Ensuring that the pantry area is well stocked and tidy
• Liaising with building management on facilities issues as required
• Maintaining office documentation & filing of corporate & trade agreements
• Assist with organising of office social events, staff engagement activities, training, meetings and events.
• Assisting with non-confidential HR paperwork as required

Travel Administration

• Assisting with office travel and accommodation arrangements at comparative prices and within the company group policy guidelines
• Assisting with the documentation required for visa application for all visitors and staff travelling
• Administration of Senior Commercial and management business expenses as required.

Finance Administration

• Prepare and assist with intercompany reconciliations
• Assist with coordinating and sending bunker delivery notes

Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
