Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO/Safety Officer) Responsibilities:

• Ensure and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with all legal environmental safety regulations, standards, and practices.
• Advise and assist the Project Manager on EHS matters.
• Lead the safety team in the implementation and monitoring of environment, health and safety plans/ measures.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure that any unsafe act or condition is rectified.
• Maintain, update and retain relevant records and certificates as required under the regulation required by the regulatory authorities.
• Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and reviewing of EHS activities, systems, programs and databases to ensure it is up to date.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess minimum WSH Specialist Diploma Certificate or equivalent.
• Must be a registered WSH Officer.

• Reach out to the respondents to assist them to complete the survey

• Schedule interview appointments with respondents

• Compile, record, input survey returns and data accurately into the system

• Conduct verification to ensure completeness and accuracy of data collected

• Identify and resolve inconsistencies in responses by means of appropriate questioning and explanation

• Explain survey objectives to respondent

• Interpret survey questions to help respondents’ comprehension

• Respond to queries from respondents in a professional manner

• Ensure that the given KPI are being met based on the project timeline

• Provide status report to the supervisor

Job Description

• Candidate will be working with mouse research models. This includes breeding, maintenance care and regular quality screening for both wildtype and transgenic colonies.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, sample collections, processing and perform data analysis for industry/research studies using mouse models.
• Perform meticulous recordkeeping of animal inventory and sample data reports.
• Maintain organized laboratory inventory, ensuring adequate supplies.
• Ensure strict adherence to laboratory, IACUC protocols and safety practices.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Infectious Diseases, Immunology or related field as above
• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience or candidates with relevant academic experience are welcome to apply
• Experience with cell culture, mouse models, animal studies, cell biology, cellular and molecular techniques, microscopy, handling with BSL-2 pathogens will be an asset.
