Project Planner / Planning Engineer
Qualification and Skills:
· Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or equivalent
· At least 5 yrs of working experience in development of project schedules/planning for every phase of the construction project lifespan by using MS Projects / Primavera P6
· Able to work independently with minimum supervision
· Strong team player and able to handle fast paced projects
· Good problem solving and organisational skills are essential
· Experience in coordinating with design teams and contractors
· Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with all partes across all levels
· Proficiency in Microsoft Projects and Office Suite
· Knowledge of Primavera (P6) is an added advantage.
· Good presentation skills
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for developing, monitoring and reviewing of schedules and plans for construction activities
· Provide a detailed schedule for construction works based on the requirements, constraints and deadlines of the assigned project
· Develop, monitor and review equipment and manpower deployment plans for construction works
· Develop and follow through a system of project progress monitoring to identify schedule compliance as set out in the specifications and for potential claims analysis
· Perform monthly/weekly/daily project progress reporting activities by updating the schedule with actual progress (& actual start/finish dates) and provide schedule reports, including progress updates in Gantt Chart view and resource/cost histograms as and when required
· Provide information and assist in the analysis of claims utilizing schedule information and capabilities of the scheduling system to provide accurate picture of construction activities and events
· Know the project scope and high level work tasks/sequencing and provide look-ahead schedules to the Project manager, key site personnel and subcontractors
· Ensure that the critical path of the project is agreed with the Project Manager at the commencement of the project and is understood by all key site personnel. Advise of any changes to the critical path
· Advise the Project Manager and any key site personnel of any major slippages in the works, particularly those affecting key/interim milestones
· Suggest ways to recover from delays in the project and ways to accelerate if required
· Perform any other duties deemed necessary
