Procurement Manager - Metal Recycling

Location: Toh Guan East road

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description: The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals from suppliers. This role involves building and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating prices, and ensuring a consistent supply of materials for the recycling facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and establish relationships with scrap metal suppliers.
• Negotiate purchasing agreements to secure competitive prices and terms.
• Monitor market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate with the logistics team to manage the delivery and transportation of purchased materials.
• Track and manage inventory to ensure a consistent supply for production.
• Develop procurement strategies to optimize costs and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in procurement, particularly in the metal recycling or manufacturing sector.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and market dynamics.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Job Description

• Supports the APAC Facilities Category Business Leader for Facilities and Equipment category within Asia Pacific region to:
• Develop, implement, and drive category and vendor strategies using business and market data. Continue to optimize category through spend reduction, driving innovations, value enhancement, and risk mitigation
• Develop project pipeline in working with the stakeholders
• Lead RFx creation/management, supplier communications, market research/analysis, data collection/analysis, and contract management, development and redlining (pricing, terms and conditions, SOWs, MSAs, etc.).
• Lead opportunity assessments, category strategies, supplier negotiations and supplier performance/relationship management.
• Capture product and service requirements from business owners and stakeholders for RFx activities and supplier business reviews.
• Support the business in spend management projects that accomplish key objectives like savings, process effectiveness, supplier consolidation & management, risk reduction & management, improved visibility, and control of expenditures.
• Facilitate accurate and favorable transactions, supplier relationship management and compliance.
• Coordinates conducts business reviews with strategic suppliers

Job Requirements

Experience in the facilities & construction sourcing categories.

Collaboration and communication skills (both verbal and written) are demonstrably effective in a collaborative environment. You are confident in managing and executing projects from start to finish.

Resourceful with a strong work ethic, committed to complete execution of projects and objectives.

Communicate in a clear, concise, and timely manner and operate effectively as a team player

Exceptional customer service skills

Familiarity with procurement software (SAP SRM, Workday Sourcing), approval workflows, purchasing policy development and contracts.

Bachelor’s Degree and / or Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Management and /or relevant industry certification(s) preferred.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Indirect Procurement
