Our Ideal Candidate

• 10+ years of experience in technology leadership with a leading commercial bank, preferably with international exposure
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business/Finance/Accounting/Science
• Proven and relevant experience preferably in trade lifecycle across Cash, Trade and Financial Markets. Relevant experience in Treasury activities preferable including risk management and intraday liquidity forecasting

Based in Singapore, the primary focus of the Lead Originator, Asia (APAC) is leading the expansion in Asia Pacific markets. The position is a senior supervisory position that requires strong commercial skills and leadership. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with the Global Origination team on cross-commodity opportunities that have a broad global impact.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop a 5-year plan for origination in Asia, in line with the Global Origination Strategic Plan, to include financial targets, regional development plans and the associated staffing strategy
• Work collaboratively with global trading commodity leads, local trading desk heads and global market analysis resources to prioritize origination opportunities in Asia based on current and projected gaps for Phillips 66
• Supervise and assist with staffing origination function in Asia
• Build, maintain and enhance a strong network of customer relationships in target markets
• Source, negotiate and close profitable deals for the global trading desks in line with prioritized opportunity lists, and ensure smooth transition of closed deals to Trading desks for execution
• Deliver deals to exceed net income targets defined in origination plans (P&L measurement to be done on trading desks but origination function will track value-add associated with their deals)
• Manage contract disputes if any arise during the term of the origination contracts
• Ensure all compliance requirements are met by the origination team, with zero policy breaches

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree with a strong origination background and local commercial market experience gained over at least 15 years
• Regional / country knowledge with established relationships / network in Asia Pacific markets
• Technically competent in crude oil and refined products with the ability to initiate technical sales i.e. know features of commodity/product, customers’ systems, Phillips 66 systems etc in order to make connections and propose deals that add value
• Proven ability to negotiate and implement contracts effectively with examples of structured deals that have been closed personally
• Good understanding of trading/financial products from trading or trading management roles
• Experience dealing with legal compliance issues such as FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), sanctions and anti-boycott issues
• Supervisory experience in a commercial role, preferably in structured negotiation and for more than one commodity
• Demonstrated strategic breadth with ability and desire to achieve significant growth targets
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and multi-language proficiencies
• Effective in both internal and external relationships management with the ability to work co-operatively with all trading desks
• Required to travel regularly, up to 50% of time

 Lead/ Facilitate Lean or Six Sigma project assigned as per the business needs to improve performance as per

Balanced score card and reach world class status as per external benchmarks (e.g. POBOS).

 Ensure goal alignments and consistent application of IMEx standards to deliver business results across all the

domains (safety, quality, supply, financial and people).

 Work with Site Leadership team for site strategy development and deployment, Standard Work (SW) and

Structured Gemba across all ecosystems.

 Provide leadership & guidance to site Yellow Belts (M1).

 Provide OpEx orientation and Yellow Belt (M1) Root Cause Analysis training to colleagues across the site.

 Promote Good Practices and sharing knowledge across the site and within the PGS network in order to benefit from

organizational learning. Coordinate Tuas API’s participation in the Global IMEx Community of Practice.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of advanced forms of qualitative data collection methodologies and techniques, analysis and interpretation with the ability to apply to agency work.
• Experience in moderating groups and in-depth interviews with both large and small groups and executing research.
• Experience in using various technology platforms for both online synchronous and asynchronous Qualitative research.
• Capable of steering a project and team through analysing a diverse array of inputs and crafting a cohesive and compelling story.
• At least 13 years or more experience in brand strategy, product innovation or qualitative consumer research.
• A degree in relevant field (advanced degree preferred) – Can also include Social Psychology, Anthropology, Innovation & Design, Business analytics etc.
