•  Generate purchase orders according to requirement in the purchase requisitions and MOV’s plus weekly inventory ordering
•  Coordinate all the sourcing and purchases required in the organization
•  Obtains material quotation for Engineering department and Sales department
•  Constantly maintain supplier’s performance in quality and delivery including material cost reductions
•  Assumes responsibilities that are delegated by the department head from time to time
•  Conduct vendor audit/qualification
•  Issuing of PO and monitor vendor’s quality, pricing and delivery performance
•  Generate SCM month end report
•  Coordinate with Production Scheduler on out source services

Requirements:

Minimum Degree, Minimum 5 year(s) experience in purchasing, Preferably in Electronic Industry, Good communication and negotiation skill, Proficient in MS office application.

Job Description

· Perform tasks involved with sourcing, purchasing and expediting of goods and services from suppliers, service provider and contractors.

· Attend daily requests for sourcing of goods and services under his / her portfolio from production and other users.

· Check and ensure purchase requisitions are complete and duly authorized before sending request for quotations (RFQ) to approved supplier and competitive sources

· Liaise with suppliers for quotations / proposals, conducts negotiation with suppliers, co-ordinate technical clarification / work scopes / schedules from suppliers / service providers with users where necessary.

· Prepare commercial bid evaluations for next level approvals for purchase confirmation.

· Raise purchase orders according to establish system and follow up on deliveries.

· Ensure that all data of purchase are accurately entered into the Purchasing System.

· Conduct supplier appraisals.

· Perform additional purchasing related tasks from time to time.

Requirements

· Diploma in Supply Chain, Material Management, Marine Engineering or equivalent.

· Experience: Preferably 2-3 years of experience in procurement or related work.

· Technical Skills: Purchasing Systems like ACCPAC, SAP, E-Procurement and Microsoft Office.

· Interpersonal Skills: Able to interact with internal customers and external vendors with professionalism and integrity

· Have experience in negotiating contractual terms and conditions

Job scope:

An Assistant Purchasing Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient procurement and sourcing operations within an organization. This role involves working closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for business operations. Key responsibilities include assisting in vendor management, negotiating contracts, maintaining accurate procurement records, and monitoring inventory levels.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise and when necessary, execute all aspects of purchasing and material planning of raw material, packaging and other material and services as specified.
• Source and qualify potential suppliers, in accordance with established supplier certification guidelines and Purchasing policies.
• Co-ordinate and oversee bid processes for suppliers according to established guidelines.
• Work cross-functionally to assist in the development of new products (i.e., packaging design, new ingredients, labels, etc).
• Work with Quality Assurance (QA) and Research & Development (R&D) on quality issues, specifications, nutritional information and discuss concerns with suppliers.
• Establish and maintain the chain of command for all purchasing requisitions, purchasing documentation, forecasts and receiving documentation.

Job Requirements

• At least Degree in Purchasing Management, Logistic Management or Supply Chain Management or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Experienced in Food Manufacturing industry would be advantageous
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and knowledge in SAP is preferred
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Good in planning, organizing and prioritizing assignments
• Continuously implementing improvement processes is a priority
• Independent, able to work under pressure, as well as multi-tasking
• Having strong business acumen is essential for making informed decisions
