We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Communications and Branding Assistant Manager to join our small and dynamic Communications and Branding team. This is a newly created role that reports to the Head of Communications with a focus on BW Group and some of the Groups privately held affiliates. Your responsibilities will include:

• Support corporate communications for BW Group and some of its affiliates with timely, relevant, and engaging content and visuals.
• Support, draft and contribute to the Groups annual Sustainability Report.
• Support, draft and contribute to World Horizon, the Groups bi-annual publication.
• Assist with press releases and media inquiries.
• Assist in maritime crisis communications in conjunction with the Head of Communications and a third-party partner agency.
• Create and execute digital communications campaigns to engage internal/external stakeholders and enhance the company's online presence e.g. LinkedIn
• Oversee social media platforms and the BW Group website.
• Plan and draft internal communications to keep employees informed about company news, achievements, and initiatives.
• Provide support for company events, industry forums and exhibitions (e.g. take photos and prepare videos).
• Manage BW Groups creative assets and media library.
• Develop relationships with third-party providers (web agency, design partners etc.).
• Update distribution lists, raise Purchasing Orders and process third-party invoices.
• Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all print/online communications platforms.
• Support ad-hoc and unplanned communication and branding requests.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the below:

• Minimum three years working in corporate communications (preferably a global organisation, or in the maritime or energy industry)
• Driven and self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced international work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt and design content for internal/external audiences and channels, breaking down complex topics into clear, compelling, easy-to-understand content.

• Journalism/ editorial experience will be a bonus.

Scientist for Advanced Photonics (Photonic Computing and Quantum Computing)

As part of IME’s Photonics & Sensors Department, the candidate will paticipate in various projects for the development of photonic computing, quantum photonics, or other photonic applications. This will include photonic circuit design, characterization, electro-optic integration, and verification of system functionalities. You will work closely with an excellent multidisciplinary team working on photonics, electronics, semiconductor process, integration, and fab operation.

Responsibilities:

• Design of photonic integrated circuits for advanced photonic applications, including but not limited to photonic computing, quantum photonics, etc.
• Development of optical testing platform for advanced photonic applications. This emphasizes on the application-specific testing with multi-channel in, multi-channel out.
• Development of electro-optic testing platform for advanced photonic applications. This focuses on the electro-optic integration and relevant high-speed control interface.
• Verification of electro-optic system functionalities. This emphasizes on the realization of targeted algorithm implemented on photonic integrated circuits, as well as data analysis, trouble-shooting and optimization.
• Preparation of technical presentations and papers for internal meetings, as well as conferences and journals.
• Collaborate with project team to ensure quality and on-time delivery for various projects. You will get a chance to expose to both industrial and academic projects.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Integrated Photonics, Microelectronics, Opto-electronics, Physics or equivalent.

As a Scientist, you will be responsible to generate CRISPR/Cas9 mediated edited human embryonic stem cells for ciliary genes, differentiation into airway epithelium, characterisation of ciliary defects, rescue of mutant phenotype with lipid nanoparticle packaged RNA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Use CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing to generate homozygous loss-of-function mutations in DNAI1, CCDC40 and CCDC39 genes in human embryonic pluripotent stem cell line, H9.
• Verify authenticity of the mutants using sequencing of the DNA, cDNA and also using western blotting to ensure loss of the corresponding proteins.
• Differentiate mutant and control cells into airway epithelium and assess the effects on ciliary differentiation and motility using immunofluorescence staining and confocal microscopy as well as video microscopy.
• Examine if lipid nanoparticle encapsulated wild-type RNAs for these genes are able to rescue the ciliary defects using immunofluorescence staining and confocal microscopy as well as video microscopy.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Stem Cells/ Developmental Biology/ Genetics or other related disciplines.
• Strong research background in embryonic stem cell culture and manipulation, confocal microscopy.
• Proficiency in stem cell culture and gene editing in stem cells using CRISPR/Cas9.
