Research Group Overview:
Our research group at Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore (NUS) laboratory is primarily focused on developing next-generation methods and multidisciplinary tools for dental and craniofacial research. The multi-disciplinary research project focuses on developing microfluidic organ-on-a-chip models and 3D bioprinted constructs for dental applications. A Research fellow position is available in Dr. Anand Andiappan Laboratory at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN). The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Asst. Prof. Patrick Rebentrost in the intersection of quantum algorithms and optimization, machine learning and/or finance. Sample topics include quantum algorithms for problems in supervised and unsupervised machine learning, algorithmic learning theory, and online learning, and quantum algorithms for financial problems such as portfolio optimization, pricing of financial derivatives, and hedging. The job will include the development of quantum algorithms in these areas, with provable quantum advantages and provable guarantees, when possible, in fault-tolerant models of quantum computation. The job will also include the development of algorithms that are easier to execute on available hardware such as variational and post-variational methods and quantum approximate optimization. Furthermore, the aim is to provide hardware implementations on available devices, comparisons between available hardware providers, and classical simulations of the quantum algorithms. For this purpose, the successful applicant will be granted significant independence concerning their research and receive generous travel funding. They will be expected to contribute to the group, for example by co-supervising student projects and assisting with outreach activities.

Requisite Criteria & Skills

• Possesses Diploma / Certificate in Business Administration
• 5-10 years job-related experience in a fast-paced multinational environment preferably as an administrative or customer service professional.

Job Description: the role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

As part of the dynamic team in this laboratory, you will be responsible for providing services to support the needs of researchers. AMPL also provides veterinary diagnostic biopsy services to Singapore’s veterinary community.

Responsibilities:

• Operate histology laboratory equipment to provide histology services to research and the veterinary community.
• Provide high-quality technical services and expertise to researchers in the areas of complex animal tissue collection and processing procedures, as well as other laboratory procedures such as necropsy, tissue embedding, cryotomy, microtomy, histology slide staining, etc.
• Maintain equipment, reagents, and consumables, etc in good working order to ensure continuity of services.
• Involve in QA audit and/or archiving for GLP compliance.
