Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
A Research Fellow position is currently available in SPMS. Dedicated to the construction and manipulation of new families of toroidal structures, and exploring their topological properties. The anticipated outcomes include high-impact publications in top-tier journals like Nature Photonics and Nature Nanotechnology, further solidifying NTU’s leading position in the field of toroidal electrodynamics and expanding its research influence on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the theory and simulation of the novel toroidal family
- Responsible for setting up, testing and data collection and analysis of experimental system
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in domain discipline or related field
- Proficient in modelling and analyzing optical fields in MATLAB, FDTD, and COMSOL
- Capable of independently and proficiently designing and constructing optical systems
- Familiarity with required scope: topological photonics and nanophotonics
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently & develop solutions under strict timelines
