Main Responsibilities

• Support and assist the nurses in the delivery of nursing care in the wards and helps to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for them.
• Execute ADL tasks eg feeding, showering, transferring, pottering of residents in the ward.
• Take on responsibility of ward safety and cleanliness in wards.
• Assist in therapy and Social activities.
• Support Volunteers coming to do activities with residents.
• Perform simple assessments of resident’s well being and clinical status (vital signs measurements) under supervision of Nurses and MSW/ Care coordinators.
• Help Care coordinators to manage the residents’ activity calendar.
• Attend to needs of the residents.
• Accompany residents for their outing trips.

Job Description

The Department of English, Linguistics and Theatre Studies at Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting ONE Research Fellow to work on a Social Science and Humanities Research (SSHR) Fellowship project, “Archipelagic Mappings and Performance Routes, Routers, and Networks (1840–1940),” directed by the Principal Investigator (PI), Assistant Professor Alvin Eng Hui Lim. The position will be based in Singapore with an intended start date of August 2024 for a period of two years.

The SSHR Fellowship-funded project seeks to study early waves of interculturalism and performance-making during the colonial period and identify obvious gaps in research on the theatrical networks and performance routes of the nineteenth century to early twentieth century. The project will theorise and document the circulation and travels of theatre, dance, and performance against the backdrop of colonial expansion, territorialisation, cultural diplomacy, trade, and technological development between 1840 to 1940. By situating Singapore as a significant node, the study will trace the networks that existed between urban centres, port cities, and the sea routes (namely, along the Malacca and Singapore Straits and diverging across Australia, Hong Kong and the Southern provinces of China, to name a few) that performance practices and performers travelled on as they embarked and disembarked, evolved, or took root across places in the region. These networks will be visualised and narrated through storymaps and digital scholarship, ensuring that the histories of individual traditions are not told in isolation but interwoven into a connected history of performance-making in the region.

The successful applicant will be offered a contract of 24 months from the date of hire. S/he will receive an attractive monthly remuneration depending on experience and qualifications. S/he will be considered a full-time staff member of the National University of Singapore, applicable for staff benefits such as medical coverage, a fixed amount in a flexible spending account for health-related expenses, vacation leave, corporate discounts, and staff concession rates for part-time government subsidized graduate programmes offered by NUS. Scope and responsibilities

The Research Fellow (Digital Humanities) will work with the Principal Investigator (PI) to:

• Collect, process, manage, and analyse data from archives and historical collections. Such data may include information from archival documents, books, travelogues, photography, maps, old newspapers, and journals.
• Support PI in designing and maintaining a performance database, a searchable resource accessible to the public.
• Use digital research methods and Geographic Information System (GIS) methods to produce story maps and visualise historical information.
• Support in editing and proofreading documents and manuscripts.
• Design and prepare presentation materials for meetings, conferences, etc.
• Contribute to papers, book chapters, research reports, etc.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for an international workshop.
• Ad hoc logistical, administrative, and research tasks.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

• Have at least a PhD in Geographic Information System (GIS), Digital Humanities or equivalent. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Specific skills in GIS, database design and programming (Python, JavaScript, SQL) will be appreciated.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sorts all purchase orders from CPU and respective departments.
• Matches invoices to Purchase Order and Delivery Order to confirm the right payment.
• Checks invoices with the contract payment terms.
• Ensures all contracts are renewed before the expiry and highlights to Executive Assistant Manager (Finance) on any expiring contracts.
• Liaises with suppliers and internal colleagues on any Accounts Payable issues.
• Obtains verification/ approval/ signatories for cheques/payment from Management and respective HODs.
• Ensures correct posting of invoices to accounting system.
• Issues and process payments within deadline for critical accounts (e.g. Credit Card,utilities, etc.).
• Prepares monthly expenses analysis reports.
• Reconciles creditor’s statement against vendor listing.
• Reconciles all inventory balances with Cost Section.
• Checks and reconciles corporate credit card statement for payment.
• Ensures monthly accounts payable closing is on time and works with supervisor on closing of accounts for the month.
• Ensures proper filing of key expenses (takes note of all Penang Hawkers’ Fare expenses,telecommunications and utilities expenses).
• Performs banks reconciliation.
• Prepares monthly Balance Sheet schedules.
• Prepares GST reconciliation and GST F5 return to IRAS within deadline.
• Prepares accrual listing and monthly accrual Journal for GL posting.
• Keeps proper records for fixed assets register.
• Assists with tagging of fixed assets.
• Assists and ensures proper disposal of fixed assets.
• Assists to post approved budget to accounting system in a timely manner.
• Witnesses Chief Cashier’s collection from night safe.
• Prepares Penang Hawkers’ Fare or any purchased vouchers as and when required.
• Performs any other duties as and when assigned by Accountant or Executive Assistant Manager (Finance).

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead in Quantity Surveying services including contract advisory to Project Managers/Users on managing infrastructure projects across NUHS Cluster.
2. Provide Project Management support role for renovation projects under NUHS Cluster.
3. Provide support on the following:
4. Drafting on infrastructure procurement documents including refine the infrastructure procurement policies & procedure.
5. Management of funding and cash flow for NUHS infrastructure projects.
6. Analysis and compile cost data for infrastructure projects under NUHS including liaising with Project Managers/Users.
7. Support on internal & external audit including liaising with the Project Managers, stakeholders and MOHH.
8. Compile a registry of consultations, queries and feedback on procurement policies, standard contract documents and contract administration processes/templates for periodic review and improvement.
9. Organising of trainings for professional growth and practise.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Building or Project Management for infrastructure projects.
• Experience in healthcare facilities and/or government projects will be an advantage.
• Minimum Bachelor Degree from a recognised university in Quantity Surveying, Project Management or other relevant construction related discipline.
• Good knowledge of Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications eg. MS Words, Powerpoint and Excel.
