The incumbent will provide active ageing activities, befriending services for vulnerable seniors who require additional social support; and referrals for care services when required. He or she works closely with the Centre Supervisor to promote healthy living and keep seniors engaged within the community which includes regular monitoring of seniors' health condition.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist Centre Supervisor to conduct active ageing activities and organize special events (i.e. National Day, Christmas, Chinese New Year) for the seniors and their caregivers.
2. Conduct community outreach and needs assessments to seniors at a designated service boundary.
3. Provide befriending services to vulnerable seniors including connecting them to care services when necessary.
4. Collaborate with Healthier SG ambassadors and the local community nodes to implement social and lifestyle interventions to help seniors age in place.
5. Recruit and train volunteers to assist with the active ageing activities and outreach services.
6. Perform administrative and reporting duties such as daily programme attendance, health screening recording, client register, and other data and statistics rquired by the authorities.
7. Assist in monitoring Alert Alarm System wherever available.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the reporting officer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Asian School of the Environment (ASE, https://www.ntu.edu.sg/ase) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore seeks to appoint several Assistant Professors (tenure track) in tropical ecology. Job Description

The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Asst. Prof. Patrick Rebentrost in the intersection of quantum algorithms and optimization, machine learning and/or finance. Sample topics include quantum algorithms for problems in supervised and unsupervised machine learning, algorithmic learning theory, and online learning, and quantum algorithms for financial problems such as portfolio optimization, pricing of financial derivatives, and hedging. The job will include the development of quantum algorithms in these areas, with provable quantum advantages and provable guarantees, when possible, in fault-tolerant models of quantum computation. The job will also include the development of algorithms that are easier to execute on available hardware such as variational and post-variational methods and quantum approximate optimization. Furthermore, the aim is to provide hardware implementations on available devices, comparisons between available hardware providers, and classical simulations of the quantum algorithms. For this purpose, the successful applicant will be granted significant independence concerning their research and receive generous travel funding. They will be expected to contribute to the group, for example by co-supervising student projects and assisting with outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Track-record working on quantum algorithms and/or quantum information. Candidates with expertise in other aspects of quantum computing such as quantum machine learning, near-term quantum algorithms, quantum approximate optimization are encouraged to apply.

• PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, physics or applied mathematics.

• Well-rounded research profile and ability to communicate research.

Your responsibilities

• Perform the electrical design, simulation and analysis of power electronics circuits and systems to meet technical product requirements. The main focus will be on DC-DC power converters.
• Conduct the electrical debug, test, characterization, and validation of power electronics designs.
• Optimise the Power Processing Unit design for coupling with Aliena’s family of Hall effect thrusters. Understand the interactions between power electronics and plasma devices (internal training provided).
• Cooperate with embedded system engineers to improve the Electronic Control Unit and explore the possibility of an integrated ECU-PPU.
• Support the design of laboratory experiments to test the PPU performance coupled with different Thruster Units and power rails.
• Assist in the environmental testing of PPUs and other Aliena systems (might involve travelling abroad).
• Partner with the operations team in planning for the scale production stage of the propulsion system.
• Document and share best-practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Experience in PCB design and assembly including knowledge of eCAD.

Useful experiences

· Experience in modelling, simulating, and testing of power electronics through tools like PSIM, MATLAB, ORCAD/PSPICE, LTspice, etc..

· Experience in designing and solving technical problems in the area of power and analog circuit design.
