Scope:

Tax

· Provide support for the tax components of Singapore direct and indirect taxes, ensuring adherence to local country tax mandates.

· Attend to tax queries with the tax authorities.

· Collaborate with external parties to oversee and formulate transfer pricing documentation for bolstering inter-company transactions in alignment with local regulations.

· Collaboratewith external parties to ensure compliance to Country by Country Reporting requirements.

· Analyze and devise business strategies pertaining to taxation.

· Serve as an internal business consultant for all tax-related matters in Singapore.

· Oversee the tax compliance process and adapt to challenges in the process.

Audit

· Lead the audit of the Singapore entities and ensure prompt and timely completion of external audits.

· Responsiblefor managing the internal and external audit processes; ensuring timeliness of filing statutory accounts.

Reporting & Compliance

· Review and provide accurate financial information to Management.

· Routine team’s supervision and guidance, to ensure timely delivery of output.

· Assist in implementation of new and revised accounting standards.

· Assist in ensuring accounting policies and reporting processes of Singapore entities are documented and kept-up-to date.

· Assist in periodic reviews of all finance policies, processes and procedures to ensure they are optimal for the changing demands of the business.

What the role is

The Waste Infrastructure Management Department (WIMD) under the Waste Infrastructure Operations & Management Division (WIOMD) oversees the availability of national waste disposal and incineration capacity, manages private waste facilities, waste disposal accounts and revenue collection by the Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plants and Tuas Marine Transfer Station.

What you will be working on

You will work in the Waste Accounts Management Branch (WAMB) under WIMD which monitors the operation of the PPP WTE plants’ weighbridges, verifies the quantity of waste received and manages issues relating to weighbridges. WAMB also manages the security deposit of waste disposal account holders, as well as the billing and collection of refuse disposal fees. You will be responsible for the following:

• Monitor the operation of the PPP WTE plants’ weighbridges including but not limited to the following:
• Verification of the quantity of waste received
• Monitor performance of weighbridges including records in Refuse Disposal Management System and Waste & Resource Management System
• Evaluate reports and make recommendations for improvements
• Verify monthly service payments to PPP WTE plants
• Transform the current processes in revenue collection and management of the refuse disposal accounts
• Transform the current processes in monitoring and timely collection of refuse disposal fees
