What’s the job?

The Assistant / Event Sales Manager sell activities and events (seminars, workshops, weddings, social dinners, etc) in line with the annual sales and marketing plan. He/she is the main contact for all clients’ inquiries and requests about the space, consulting with clients about every detail of an event to ensure that it runs smoothly, prospecting new sales and managing revenue documentation. He/she also ensure that sales activities, top accounts and bookings are focused to yield maximum catering and event sales revenue.

Your day-to-day

Sales Management:

• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
• Achieve results by actively pursuing and securing business using a proactive, consultative sales approach.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients.

• Innovate and adapt to meet customer requirements and event needs.
• Maintain banquet event order (BEO) paperwork for each event booking.
• Collaborate with our chef on menu requests.
• Work closely with operations team to ensure seamless execution of committed events.
• Coordinate logistics for events, including setup, registration, catering, and audio-visual requirements.
• Work with the marketing team to develop promotional materials.
• Address any issues that may arise and ensuring a seamless and great experience for clients.

• Diploma/ Degree in related discipline
• 3 years of sales & event planning and management background in the hotel industry. Candidates with stronger experience may be considered for the role of Event Sales Manager.

The Sales Manager (Corporate) is responsible for maximizing revenue opportunities in the areas of room reservations by driving sales acquisitions, maximizing business opportunities and increasing business conversions.

He/she is knowledgeable on local and international market trends and will recommend strategic sales initiatives to win the business and maintain hotel's market leader position as preferred hotel for international business and leisure travel segments.

Your day-to-day

• Assist the Director of Sales in management of all sales activities and events including direct sales, sales solicitation, sales administration, public relations and management of the sale team.
• Develop and procure new and repeat business for the hotel by monitoring contact with airlines, travel agencies, commercial houses, private clubs and professional associations within local and international markets.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in one or more areas of the IT industry

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; Computer Engineering; Information Technology is preferred
• Solid understanding of containers and serverless architecture
• Experience designing relational or non-relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Aurora, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Experience with agile approaches and experience in DevOps or DevSecOps
• Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tool
