Job Description
What you’ll do

This role is a fixed term role to support our Global Sales Operations team with our Energy Solutions Laytime obligations working in our ES Sales Operations team. The role will have responsibility to produce laytime calculations, negotiate with counterparties to through to financial settlement.

KEY TASKS

Laytime

Produce a laytime calculation/statement promptly for each vessel, ensuring no contractual time bars are missed and in line with the relevant contract.
Negotiate with Buyers/Suppliers/Vessel Owners to settlement.
Raise appropriate Invoice/Credit Note using our Marketing Trade system(s).
Keep full and accurate records at all stages of the negotiation to settlement.
Keep records of any events that impact on vessel loading activities
Produce a weekly Management Laytime Update/Summary with full commentary.
Produce a Monthly finance report (Net Gain/Losses, Invoices/Credit Notes status)
Debtor Control and cash management
Reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable
Net Offs of trades
Stakeholder relationship management/maintenance
Supporting our fully flexible sales operations team ambition, in the careful calculation, negotiation and settlement of laytime.
Ensure accurate data entry to issue invoice/credit notes in Aspect, uploading relevant supporting documents.
Process Improvement

Support continuous review processes to identify opportunities that will help maximise value.
Support the implementation of key optimization projects to maximise value for the Marketing BU
Give input to Laytime terms in Trade contracts as required.
Sales Operations Support

Support Sales Operators on an as necessary basis in the operation of the sales/purchase contract.
Compliance, Risk and MasterdataContinual vigilance for Compliance issues, raise team awareness and assist to develop controls.
Assist in onboarding existing counterparties new bank details in line with the compliance processes.
Provide updates to operational risk on Thermal Coal debtor position on a weekly basis.

Qualifications
What we’re looking for

A detailed knowledge and experience of international shipping with particular reference to demurrage/despatch calculations and nomination procedures.
A detailed knowledge of sales contracts with an appreciation of trade markets and understanding of quality implications to enable the incumbent to contribute to the formulation of sales, purchase and freight contracts.
A working knowledge of International Trade and Shipping with particular reference to the International coal market would be an advantage
An understanding of Trade Finance Instruments primarily Letters of Credit and relevant contractual requirements
Full knowledge of the latest vessel vetting procedures so that vessel nominations can be checked for breach of sanctions.
A detailed knowledge of the operation of bulk trading contracts (such as SCoTA)
Understanding of the commodities markets is desirable

Overall Objectives

The General Sales Manager is a member of the Engineering & Maintenance Group sales organisation and reports to the Regional Sales VP.

• New sales target: annual target of EUR 15-30 million (order of magnitude).

Key Responsibilities

1. Builds detailed prospection and account planning for his portfolio

Portfolio vision

• Receives a yearly set of targets for new sales and order book objectives per product
• Maps his/her portfolio (geographical area) by identifying and characterizing all entities (operators, asset managers…)
• Defines the market approach strategy, builds and updates the prospection plan, regularly shares it with the management and the back office
• Builds the account planning for existing customers to identify current performance or service delivery problems, anticipate and monitor contract renewal and new opportunities

Sales case preparation

• Organizes a Kick-off meeting for each significant sales case with the TSD, discusses the need for a project team with the TSD and the Group Product
• Provide the TSD and the project team if any with intelligence on competition, target price, prospect expectations decision process, selection criteria….

Negotiation

• Contributes to the negotiation process with the prospect led by the TSD at all steps (commercial proposal, contract…)
• Together with the TSD, seeks and uses prospect’s input and information, to adjust the sales tactics and the offer content

4. Feeds the organization with feedback on sales activities, customers and the market

Sales activities

• Contributes to the won / lost case analysis organized by the TSD’s to provide all relevant inputs related to the sales case strategy, the decision process, the lobbying and relationship, the competition…
• Reports on his/her activities including trip reports to be loaded in Descartes after each customer visit, meeting, MRO or social event leading to share new information on the market

Market

• Feeds the marketing team and more generally the organization with field intelligence on operators, competitors, opportunities …
• Helps educating the back office to cultural and behavioral features within his/her portfolio
• Provides information on the market and his/her portfolio to the support team (TSD – marketing) for the budget elaboration

Customers

• Shares information with the Units management and support teams (CSM’s) to update the organization on the customer satisfaction level, the required improvements to the services delivered, the new potential needs not yet formalized.

5. Ensures the compliance with the internal commercial process, the competition and safety/security rules, the training and change management frame

Commercial process

• Creates and updates all relevant information in Descartes related to entities, opportunities, sales cases, customer satisfaction….
• Uses reporting capabilities of Descartes to build and share with his/her management the sales activities and business potential follow up: “pipeline” vision, customer mapping, debt situation….
• Checks customer feedbacks and questionnaire results loaded by the CSM’s
• Contributes to risk management and risk transfer to the Units when the contract is signed

• Maintain and develop the relationship with existing automotive aftermarket customers in ASEAN region for both power transmission belt and air spring business
• Grow aftermarket sales in both automotive and commercial vehicle replacement market;
• Identify new growth opportunities in the region (new customers, channels, products, etc), launch and execute new business development in emerging countries in South East Asia

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of sales and business development experience in either passenger car aftermarket or commercial vehicle industry in ASEAN region;

The department actively helps Benchmark Broadcast Systems customers in building facilities, technical centers and broadcast operations. The department works with vendors in Broadcast, IT and Infrastructure to provide best in breed, new technology products and build for the customers. The Engineering team has solution architects, specialists in application and products for serving. The division is responsible for providing system integration, consultancy and managed services for the customers.

The Engineering Support group provides support for broadcast infrastructure, digital production systems and IT systems for managed services and support for domestic and international customers.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Engineering Operations Support Broadcast Engineers are responsible for delivering high quality support service on behalf of the Benchmark Broadcast Systems. They ensure that equipment and systems integrated by Benchmark Broadcast Systems meet targets for availability, performance and safety. System architects and specialists from engineering will support and provide the process to ensure the Benchmark Broadcast Systems support provides a quality service to its customer. It is essential that role holders understand the needs of the business and the pressures faced by different department of customers.

Engineers are characterized by their ability to develop appropriate solutions to incidents, problems and management of safety, using new or existing technologies, through innovation, creativity and change. They take responsibility for maintaining and managing applications of current and developing technology and may undertake engineering design and development of systems and services.

SCOPE OF ROLE – KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Service delivery

• Provides excellent service to customers by ensuring that all incidents and service requests are professionally and correctly logged, documented and prioritized; records are kept accurate and up-to-date; and progress is effectively and respectfully communicated back to the customer; reported to lines manager /supervisor internally

• Minimises disruption to customer users’ work activities by taking personal responsibility and accountability for work undertaken, resolving incidents and carrying out service requests in a timely manner, as well as ensuring planned work is communicated in advance

• Experience of working on broadcast/IT systems in a live TV, Radio or multi-media environment or attitude to work in the environment with relevant qualification
