Role:

Job Description

SIA has multiple positions for junior and senior data scientists to drive our AI, data science and business analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Member of an in-house AI and data science development team that works on AI (including areas in generative AI, autonomous agent, NLP, computer vision and recommender system), mathematical optimization, game theory, and experimental design.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to create impactful and intelligent features/services in AI, data science and data analytics. Propose and build scalable ML/DL solutions. Deploy them as API microservices for use by software applications and business users for faster and more effective decision making.

Requirements

The Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC), established in 2012, is a research centre at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. LKYCIC aims to stimulate research on cities and urbanisation, and explore the role of technology, design and policy in providing urban solutions.

Within the Programme on Urban Innovation, we are seeking a full-time Research Assistant to contribute to the study of placekeeping, which involves the long-term management and maintenance of place. With a mixed-methods research approach, we will examine who the key stakeholders are in placekeeping, how they collaborate, and what facilitates or hinders their collaboration. The study aims to establish a methodology and framework that will enable the systematic investigation of placekeeping and inform future policies and practices related to placekeeping in Singapore.

About the Position:

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about placemaking, placekeeping, and community engagement in urban planning and design and is looking to gain experience for a future career in research.

You will:

We are seeking applicants for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow position in non-Hermitian physics (ONLY theory and simulation). The successful candidate will apply quantum mechanics and computational simulations to study the physical properties of non-Hermitian system and their nonequilibrium behaviour, as well as to explore potential device applications. We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant with a strong mathematical background who is interested to explore new research directions in neuro-symbolic methods, specifically on the interplay between deep learning and symbolic reasoning. The successful candidate can expect to help with the implementation of algebraic machine reasoning frameworks and will work closely with other team members.

The goal of this project is to develop a general neuro-symbolic reasoning framework for solving various reasoning tasks. The symbolic reasoning part of this framework shall be based on algebraic machine reasoning, a new reasoning paradigm built upon commutative algebra and computational algebra. The non-symbolic part of the framework shall primarily be based on deep learning, and could include vision models, language models, and multi-modal models.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's in computer science.
• Strong programming experience and must be open to learning new things.
• Strong mathematical background, and is excited by the possibility of applying algebraic methods (e.g. in computational algebra) to problems in machine reasoning.

Job Purpose :

• Assist the teachers in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programmes and instructions for special needs students in both self-contained and integrated settings.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement an intrusion detection system (IDS) specifically for monitoring and securing the IT-OT interfaces within power grid environments.
• Capture, decode, and analyze network traffic in the IT-OT domain of the ICS to detect and respond to potential security threats.
• Develop and refine algorithms and methods for detecting anomalous behavior or unauthorized access within the network.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and network teams to integrate the IDS into the existing security infrastructure and workflows.
• Conduct continuous monitoring and periodic testing of the IDS to ensure its effectiveness and to update its capabilities in response to emerging threats.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to the IDS, including system design, configuration, and operational procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and advancements in intrusion detection technologies to recommend improvements to the IDS.
