Objective:
The Contractor shall provide one competent personnel ("Personnel") to support the administrative functions of Yuhua Primary School as a Science Lab Assistant.

Scope of Services:

1. Assisting teachers in Science labs / classroom:

• Prepare materials before science lessons for P3 to P6
• Preparation of materials for practical tests
• Assisting teachers in the labs during Science lessons
  

1. Assist in the upkeep of equipment in Science Lab:

• Recording loaning/breakage materials
• Annual stocking taking of materials in the science lab
• Checking and clearing unwanted or faulty materials
• Maintenance of equipment by checking the workability and liaising with vendors for maintenance checks
  

1. Maintenance of science lab:

• Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of the labs
• Changing displays in display cabinets
• Disinfect Science Labs rooms as required
  

1. Administrative work related to maintenance and upkeep of Science Labs.
2. Assists General Office with general administrative duties:

• Provide administrative support at the General Office
  Provide customer service at the reception counter – attend to visitors including parents, staff, pupils, and vendors.
• Answer phone calls, record messages, and attend to walk-in inquiries
• Assist in logistics matters
• Shredding of documents
• Perform gate duties during school arrival and dismissal time and during heavy traffic
• Preparation and verification of documents, maintaining and updating data records, filing, typing, and data entry
• Accompany pupils and teachers on Learning Journeys as required

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Minimum Diploma from a recognized institution (Qualification in Science related areas would be beneficial)
• Knowledge and skills in handling common Lab equipment found in school labs (e.g., Microscope, dataloggers, etc.)
• Preferably a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in an MOE School, either in a similar role or similar context.

The mission of the Centre is to improve population health and well-being by accelerating the use of behavioural and implementation science in health policy and practice.

Responsibilities include:

• Work hand-in-hand with Directors, Principal Investigators and Visiting Professors, to develop strategy that meets overall research, translation, implementation and education objectives of the Centre.
• Establish an independent research agenda through collaborations with health institutions, government agencies and private sector through internal or extramural funding
• Represent a core part of the leadership team for programs on public policy and research implementation and for outreach to professional bodies
• Oversee implementation of education activities of the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI) under NUSMed.
• Oversee research and education staff supervision and mentorship

Qualifications

• An advanced degree in behavioral science, Biomedical science, psychology and other related disciplines
• At least 8 years working experience, with 3 – 5 years of this time previously committed to work in the science or health sector interface with policy, implementation, public administration and government.
• Prior demonstrated leadership and managerial expertise is essential, as this role requires the candidate to build team capacity and expertise in a growing field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to manage multiple, diverse stakeholders, and communicate effectively

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the project of “Preventing physical and psychological symptoms among cancer survivors through a mindfulness psychoeducation programme: A randomised controlled trial.” and will be required to:

1. oversee the general management of the project;
2. undertake the day to day running of the project at the study site (such as recruitment, provision of intervention, and data collection);
3. provide administrative and secretarial support to the project;
4. conduct literature review and/or systematic review
5. conduct data entry and data analyses;
6. assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project; and

Qualifications
