The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
Join the laboratory of Dr Alexander Ludwig at the School of Biological Sciences. We are seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to a project focused on the functions of cell polarity proteins in epithelial lumen formation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, conduct, analyse, and critically interpret cell and molecular biology experiments at a high scientific standard.
- Present and discuss data in weekly group meetings and at local and international conferences.
- Provide guidance and supervision to PhD and undergraduate students, fostering their growth and development within the laboratory setting.
- Preparing detailed reports and manuscripts for publication in esteemed scientific journals.
Job Requirements
- A PhD degree in Molecular and Cell Biology or related areas, with a focus on epithelial cell polarity, cell-cell junctions, and imaging.
- Experience in epithelial cell cultures, 3D cell culture models, protein-protein interaction analysis (IPs, pulldowns), and confocal and electron microscopy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
