The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on Virology, Immunology or Antibody Engineering in the Infectious Diseases Translational Research Programme (ID TRP) and the Department of Biochemistry, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Purpose of the post

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate post-doctoral research fellow to work on a funded research project that looks at the use of radiant systems in the tropics. Specifically, we will be optimizing the operation of radiant cooling panels with a dedicated outdoor air system. The study also aims to benchmark radiant cooling panels against other existing cooling solutions in Singapore.

• Perform measurement and verification of different operating modes of a radiant-based energy system installed in Singapore, and benchmark it against other common HVAC systems.
• Develop a predictive model of radiant system installed in Singapore.
• Develop an active data acquisition framework that identifies the most informative data for improving the model’s prediction.
• Organize, analyze and publish research in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• PhD in Building/Mechanical Engineering with a focus on building performance and energy efficiency
• More than 4 years work experience in academia and more than 3 years work experience in industry working with HVAC and building automation systems
• Proficiency (with a demonstrated track record) in energy simulation software EnergyPlus and/or Modelica
• Proficiency (with a demonstrated track record) in working with building automation systems
• Proficiency in programming languages Python and/or R

We are looking for a Grant Research and Administration Specialist who will be an integral part of the Finance Department, primarily responsible for identifying potential grant opportunities, managing successful grant applications, tracking and reporting claims, and ensuring compliance with grant conditions and accountability milestones in collaboration with our Programme and Services Departments.

This role supports the Development Department and the CEO’s Office in securing and maintaining the funding necessary for our charity's crucial programmes and services. Further, you should support the tracking and monitoring of donations for fundraising events from grantors and donors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Determine funding needs within the charity and conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities aligned with our charity's mission and goals.
2. Prepare and submit high-quality grant applications, including the development of compelling narratives and budget proposals in support of the Development Department and/or CEO’s Office.
3. Monitor and track grant application processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and any requested information is promptly provided.
4. Manage grant contracts, working closely with the relevant Programme and Services Departments to ensure they are aware of grant conditions and can plan their work accordingly, ensuring all key milestones and deliverables are met as outlined in grant agreements.
5. Track grant/programme income and expenditure versus budgets/forecasts and oversee the creation of financial reports to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
6. Submit to grantors/management the relevant financials and claims report with completeness and accuracy, and on a timely basis.
7. Any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department, such as supporting the tracking and monitoring of donations for fundraising events from grantors and donors.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. At least 2-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, grant writing, research, or administration.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Strong organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
5. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, particularly in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
6. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and build collaborative relationships.
7. Prior experience in grant management and use of grant research tools and databases in a similar capacity will be an advantage.

Role and Responsibilities

• To conduct human clinical trials with institutions;

Job Success Requirements

• B.Sc or Master in Biology/Biological Sciences/Biomedical Sciences or equivalents with at least 3 to 5 years working experience
• Have extensive bench work experience in biological research in mammalian cell culture, genomic & proteomic analysis. The lab techniques require including qPCR, cDNA microarray, western blotting, ELISA assay, flow cytometry, fluorescence imaging;
• Preferably the candidate has knowledge and prior experience in clinical trial management and coordination;
• Proven publication record in international scientific peer-reviewed journals;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and uses data to generate ideas and develop solutions;
• Have thorough understanding & fundamental concepts in biology and pharmacology for experimental troubleshooting & optimization;
• Be highly motivate, independent and present strong interest in a fast-paced environment;
• Competent in Microsoft Office, bibliography software (Endnote or Mendeley), GraphPad Prism, SPSS or other analytical tools.

The Associate Research Coordinator (ARC) will work with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Department of Breast Surgery to support administration of the compliance, financial and various operational aspects of clinical studies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in all aspects of study operations for clinical studies.
• Take patient consent in clinic, as well as collect tissue and blood samples for clinical study,
• Manage grant coordination and submission and any other duties assigned by PI.
• Setup and maintain the clinical database.
• Collaborate with PI to prepare materials required for institutional review board (IRB).

Requirements:

• Diploma in life sciences or a related field.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy is a bonus (not required).
• 1 year of experience in research-related activities is preferred.
• Able to communicate with research participants.
• Fluent in English and another mother-tongue language
• Good time-management and organisational skills
• Meticulous, fast and accurate in your work.
• Proficient with Microsoft excel/word/powerpoint
• Able to work independently.
