- Responsible for assisting the Section Head in overseeing and organizing maintenance activities for trailers, van and lorry within the logistics department ensuring their roadworthiness and compliance with LTA regulations. Also accountable for ensuring an adequate supply of trailers for operational needs across all production centers. Additionally, tasked with conducting thorough verification of all trailer repair costs, preventing any misuse of the repair system by contractors and maintaining a 100% compliance rate for audit purposes.
- Overseeing the maintenance of trailers, prime movers, van and lorry within the department.
- Ensuring the assets are roadworthiness and compliance with LTA regulations.
- Monitors and ensures that all trailers undergo scheduled inspections for the timely renewal of road tax.
- Organizing the daily triannual maintenance schedule for all trailers with our contractors.
- Managing road safety initiatives, implementing departmental rules and regulations including monitoring the effects of these changes.
- Scrutinizing the repair spreadsheet and the before/after photos submitted by contractors for verification.
- Verifying that the repair costs in the invoices submitted by contractors align with the terms specified in the contract agreement.
- Compile and document the daily repair costs for each respective contractor and submit the report to the Head of Department as needed.
- Support the Head of Department in registering trailers, third-party prime movers and NSR trucks within the One Motoring system.
- Perform daily inspections around the mill to identify any faulty trailers and arrange for their prompt repair.
- Ensuring that there is a sufficient supply of trailers for operational requirements across all production centers.
- Promptly address any trailer breakdown during production and swiftly arrange for the immediate deployment of a replacement trailer.
- Conduct physical counts of empty trailers on weekends and public holidays including submitting the corresponding reports three times each day to the management.
- Identifying the necessary action plan and evaluating the issues that arise when accidents occur within the NatSteel pool of drivers.
- Management and verification of asset damages, along with the monitoring of insurance access invoices.
- Serve as a backup prime mover driver to carry out local deliveries within the department in cases of driver shortages.
- Act as an emergency driver for the van during plant visits or as needed for various purposes by management or NatSteel employees.
