In this role, you will be part of the pioneer team providing crucial support for the monthly financial closing processes. You will also prepare the budgeting and forecasting submissions.

You will be the key resource responsible for ensuring all financial transactions are supported and approvals are sought for claims processing. You will also review requests from stakeholders to ensure compliance with the Terms of Reference (“TOR”) of the respective funding sources.

In addition, you will assist in matters relating to audit, GST and taxation matters to ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards, Companies’ Act and other relevant statutory requirements, policies and guidelines of the Hospital.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities include :

• Support daily finance operations,
• including Payables and Receivables
• Bank/Cash Management
• PO/Inventory reconciliations.
• Ensure timely Monthly/Quarterly/Annual closing and reporting
• Support Annual Financial Audit
• Support GST/Corporate Tax reporting
• Support ERP implementation project
• Ensure proper documentation of finance related records

Skills required

• Good knowledge and understanding of financial standards – Eg. IFRS/GAAP
• Good application understanding of ERP systems and processes
• Ability to prepare financial statements in line with latest financial standards
• Exposure in professional accounting firms preferred

Preferred experience

• English proficiency, Bahasa will be added advantage
• 3 years experience in accounting and audit
• Advanced excel skills including pivot tables
• Experience in using ERP systems or accounting packages(Xero/MYOB/Quickbooks)

Reporting to the financial controller, you will be part of a cohesive team ensuring the financial records of the hotel are processed and updated efficiently

Key responsibilities

• Handle month end closing and preparation of management accounts, including month end reports for management and head office and supporting schedules
• Responsible for day to day accounting transactions and reconciliation of revenue transactions
• Responsible for and ensure compliance with all other statutory requirements and reporting including audit, GST reporting, corporate tax and others
• Handle and liaise with external and internal auditors, tax advisors and corporate secretaries
• Perform variance analysis against budget and forecast
• Assist in record keeping eg project tracking, maintenance contracts, licenses and etc
• Assist the reporting manager in new processes and system implementation when required
• Support the reporting manager to prepare cashflow, budgets and forecast
• Attend to ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned from time to time.

Ideal requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Accountancy
• 2-4 years of experience in a similar capacity
• Familiar with hotel industry practices
• Working knowledge of SUN accounting or relevant software

Job Overview: The Tax and Business Manager role at Minor Food Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd. is a multifaceted position encompassing responsibilities in tax and finance management, and corporate secretary support. This role is instrumental in maintaining tax and regulatory compliance while contributing to strategic decision-making within the MINT organization based in Singapore. The individual will be a vital asset to the Minor Group, supporting over 10 entities in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance/Tax Planning Restructure

• Ensure thorough tax compliance for the Singapore subsidiaries within the Minor Group. Key responsibilities include:Reviewing the preparation and filing of tax returns
  Managing inbound and outbound withholding tax reporting
  Coordinating with other offices and external advisors for foreign tax compliance, filings, and other tax-related matters
  Provide support to the Bangkok Shared Service Office on various tax restructuring projects.
  

Corporate Governance and Strategy

• Support the holding of board meetings of the Singapore subsidiaries within Minor Group. This include:Prepare and manage materials for board meetings, including agendas, minutes and presentations.
  Provide administrative assistance to the board, including meeting coordination, documentation, and logistics.
  Support board-level decisions related to financial matters and corporate strategy.
  Acknowledge and review legal documentation that need to be executed by the directors.
  Facilitate communication between management, board members, shareholders, and relevant stakeholders.
  

Financial Management:

• Work with Shared Services Team to:Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
  Oversee timely and accurate filing of financial reports, and tax returns with regulatory authorities.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax, or a business related field.
• Proven track record of hands-on experience in tax compliance, tax planning, and restructuring within a corporate setting.
• Some understanding of international tax regulations, including experience in managing inbound and outbound withholding tax reporting.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations for tax optimization.
• Demonstrated experience in corporate governance, board responsibilities, or related legal and financial matters.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.

The Role

The appointee is required to:

• Ensure accounting records and payments are accurate and process on timely basis.
• Ensure timely preparation of accounting reports on monthly, termly and yearly basis.
• Ensure that accounting procedures and records are in compliance with acceptable accounting standards, practices and internal policies.

The role reports to Senior Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable and Banking Matters

• Checking of payment against invoices for proper approval, accuracy and correct account and budget coding.
• Ensure that all payments are made in accordance with the school internal policies and approving authority framework.
• Verification and check of vendor bank accounts in compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Act as Liaison with key stakeholder to support and advise on finance policies, payment processes, budget and other accounting matters.
• Assist in treasury, bank facilities, operation of bank accounts, review of bank mandates and other banking matters.

General Ledger and Accounting

• Review and prepare journals and monthly schedules.
• Perform reconciliation and analysis of accounts for monthly and yearly closing as well as other supporting reports.
• Prepare monthly expenditure report to key stakeholders and departments.
• Attend queries from budget holders and end users on department accounts, actual spending, budget matters etc.

Tax, Fixed Assets and Monthly Closing

• Prepare quarterly GST reporting, statutory tax filing and statistics for Government departments.
• Assist in tracking of projects costs as well as capitalisation of assets in accordance with school policies and relevant accounting standards.
• Perform regular review of accounting records and fixed assets register to ensure the accuracy and completeness of assets.
• Support and advice end-users on fixed asset accounting treatment and disposal procedures.
• Involve in monthly closing of accounts and financial year-end audit.
• Prepare and perform analysis of monthly financial closing report.
• Assist on other ad hoc reporting and analysis requirement.

Assist in Annual Financial Budget

• Assist in preparing budget templates for dissemination to departments for submission.
• Assist in preparing budget review of departments based on certain trend analysis.
• Assist in budget analysis reports and presentation slides.

Others

• Assist in identifying, highlighting and implementing of measures to improve business efficiencies and remove gaps identified.
• Where appropriate, to participate and support in the enhancement and implementation of new work processes and accounting system.
• Assist Senior Finance Manager in any other accounting matters, ad-hoc analysis and projects as assigned.
• Liaise with external parties in connection with the accounting and financial matters of the school.
• Be responsible for reporting any concerns about a child to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
