· Review and assist in providing the engineering solutions for Technical Query and Management of Change Request from the Facility

· Preparation of process deliverables in support of work pack preparation including; PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment and Instrument Datasheets, etc.

· Perform and check process design calculations and process simulations

· Provide input to Asset Planning on modification scopes; engineering, fabrication and implementation phases.

· Support studies including HAZOP, HAZID, Risk Assessments as required.

· Provide input for variation orders, including cost estimates and justification.

· Actively contribute to Process discipline activities and provide input to develop and maintain company engineering standards and best practices within the field

Job Scope:

• Under the supervision of the In-Process Technical (IPT) Automation Lead, the Automation Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for automation systems.
• Supports the Automation Lead and Senior Automation Engineer in investigations, finding resolutions to automation problems, and implementing Automation Change Control in compliance with SDLC, GMP, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Supports the IPT Automation Lead by providing expertise, technical knowledge, and advice to IPT/COEs (Centre of Excellence) on computerized/automation systems.
• Performs automation maintenance activities, including system backup, disaster recovery, and obsolescence management, to ensure automation systems remain in a validated state.
• Ensures timely resolution of identified automation issues and unplanned events through daily walk-throughs.
• Escalates ongoing automation issues to the Automation Lead in a timely manner.
• Reviews PMs being performed and looks for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Performs automation change controls under the guidance of the Automation Lead to ensure changes are raised and closed on time and meet the required quality standards.
• Prepares and performs Automation Installation Qualification (AIQ) / Automation Operational Qualification (AOQ), test plans, and documentation, ensuring that documentation meets regulatory standards.
• Develops Automation SOPs, job aids, and procedures.
• Develops and updates Automation training packages and conducts Automation training.
• Provides support for deviation and operation investigations requiring code and system-level troubleshooting.
• Supports a continuous improvement framework within Automation and the IPT, working with Leads to identify and implement improvements.

Requirements:

• Degree in any engineering, IT, or computer field.
• At least 1 year of experience in automation
• Familiar with knowledge of PLC and programming such as VBA or C++
• The candidate will be required to work on permanent night shift (9pm-6pm) to support the automation activities at the production site during night time

• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of electrical, electronic, electro-hydraulic, and electro-pneumatic automation systems.
• Handle electrical / electronic / electro-hydraulic/electro-pneumatic/ automation equipment failures and carry out fault diagnosis with the aim to resolve the issue.
• Evaluate the planned maintenance schedule for fleet electrical, electronic, electro-hydraulic, and electro-pneumatic automation systems, as well as power generation, backup power sources, and fire detection systems, and then submit the findings to the technical manager.
• Study areas for improvements and modifications on electro/automation system and create methodical recommendations for efficient operation of the vessel.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• At least 2 years of onboard sea going vessels experience as an Electrical Technical Officer in oil/gas/chemical tankers or offshore support vessels.
• Hands on experience in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills encompassing various areas such as electrical, instrumentation, automation, control, as well as air conditioning and ventilation systems.
