Get to Know the Role

We are seeking an Automation Engineer who is capable of managing factory automation technologies. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting systems, designing and testing automated equipment, and leading efficiency improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles. You will also need to maintain machine uptime, oversee new machine setups, and integrate equipment across plants, so we are seeking someone who has a keen eye for detail. You should also have strong project management skills, to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery, as well and stay abreast of advancements in the industrial automation field to drive continuous productivity improvements.

Essential Responsibilities

• Understand factory automation technology and equipment such as robots, automated guided-vehicles and computerized manufacturing system, AMHS etc.
• Repair, troubleshoot advanced AMHS hardware, software and interface problems, maintaining the system to ensure full functionality and reliability
• Design, modify, implement and test automated machines, programs, jig and fixture to required job specification in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Lead in-house automation projects on layout, build, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production equipment.
• Drive efficiency improvement using Lean Manufacturing approach to identify waste, improve/streamline process flow and automation improvements with team and/or with cross-functional team collaboration
• Lead and maintain overall machine uptime, monitor machine utilization and OEE index by identifying and eliminating the causes for recurring issues with CAPA implementation
• Setting up new machines, transferring of equipment at different plants and integration to existing system. Supervise installation crews and support the field installation work.
• Project management on cost, quality, scope and schedule to ensure on timely delivery of the project and within budget
• Participate in design and documentation reviews, update management on work progress and deviations
• Keep abreast of latest developments in industrial automation technology and introduce them to plant wide operations achieve cost savings and productivity improvements
• Any ad hoc duties assigned by supervisor/manager

Skills and Competencies Profile

• Degree or Masters in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Industrial, Computer etc)
• At least 2 years relevant work experiences in a similar capacity and semi-con industry
• Hands-on experiences in working with cleanroom automated equipment, knowledgeable about cleanroom work environment and SEMI standards requirements
• Proficiency with CAD software: such as AutoCAD is essential, and others such as SolidWorks is good to have
• Knowledgeable of semi-con industry standard on equipment design, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals etc
• Creative thinker, proactive and able to demonstrate excellent project management and problem-solving skills
• Independent, self-starter with good written, communication and analytical skills
• Candidates with automation design, PLC experience, understanding of computer programming and software development are highly desirable
• Excellent experiences in handling and managing machine preventive/predictive maintenances and critical spare part controls, in order to minimize unplanned downtime

PROJECT OVERVIEW

1. Provide specialized expertise in lifting operations and equipment for construction projects.
2. Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and project requirements.
3. Ensure compliance with project specification and client standards, regulations and requirements.

JOB SCOPE & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Detailed lifting plans and procedures.
• Documentation of equipment inspections and certifications.
• Incident reports and corrective action plans, if applicable.

(i) Planning and Design

• Develop lifting plans based on project specifications and site conditions.
• Perform site surveys to assess lifting requirements and constraints.
• Design rigging arrangements and select appropriate lifting equipment.

(ii) Execution and Supervision

• Supervise and coordinate lifting activities on-site.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for lifting operations.

(iii) Technical Expertise

• Review engineering drawings and specifications related to lifting.
• Provide technical advice on rigging methods and equipment selection.
• Address technical queries and troubleshoot issues during operations.

(iv) Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)

• Implement QA/QC procedures to verify compliance with lifting plans.
• Conduct inspections of lifting equipment and documentation.
• Maintain records of inpections and certifications.

(v) Risk Management

• Identify potential hazards and develop risk assessment strategies.
• Monitor weather conditions and other factors affecting lifting operations.
• Implement mitigation measures to minimize risks to personnel and property.

(vi) Client Relations

• Communicate with project stakeholders regarding lifting requirements and progress.
• Provide regular updates on lifting activities and milestones.
• Address client concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Certification as a Lifting Engineer.
• 5 years of experience in lifting operations, preferably in construction or heavy industries.
• Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging techniques, and safety standards.

• Learn and understand WSI Sourcing business workflow and data requirements.
• In the capacity as an AI business partner, design, develop and deploy AI and machine learning models within the organization.

JOB HOLDER’S COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or Mathematics
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Statistics, Data Analytics, or Data Science
• Familiar with AI/ML frameworks and libraries.
• Experience with at least one programming languages, including Python, C#
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques would be advantages
• Experience with the implementation of Large Language Models and reinforcement learning will be preferred.
• Familiar with supply chain concepts and best practices is a plus.

Candidate is expected to carry out Test Board Maintenance activities (Visual inspection, testing, framing, rework, washing, drying, packing etc)

Candidate is also expected to identify issues by recognizing data trends and to be able to read diagram and information from circuit.

Candidate must be driven and able to work independently and systematically to maintain delivery of excellent services.

Basic mechanical, electrical and programming knowledge is preferred to facilitate troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
