Role:
This position will provide management and strategic direction regarding trade compliance and freight. The Logistics Manager will lead cross functional teams responsible for establishing the most cost effective, timely and secure movement of goods in all modes of transport (ocean, land, and air) and may also procure and oversee third party logistics partnerships. This includes negotiating carrier contracts, managing carrier relationships, formulating, and implementing policies and procedures and leading for continuous improvement. The Logistics Manager will be the subject matter expert in Singapore’s FTA (Free Trade Agreement), develop & manage the COO (Country of Origin) registration for Starline products with Singapore Custom.
Main Job Duties:
- Develop strategic partnerships with carriers and manage entire procurement activities; Control and improve transportation costs.
- Knowledge about import and export regulations in the global supply chain. Direct internal trade compliance initiatives in Singapore and act as Starline’s representative for larger LNCA initiatives.
- Lead efforts to design, develop, and optimize the APAC logistics network, focusing on improving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability in route-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate broader logistics strategies into practical, actionable plans
- Manage external resources/third party service providers who support trade compliance and supply chain programs. Work with vendors to identify and eliminate logistics obstacles to ensure safe and timely shipping of products, including coordination with overseas partners to manage import activities.
- Coordinate trade compliance functions internally with sales, operations, finance, legal and senior management. Evaluate and recommend training where appropriate.
- Lead the COO registration & application activities with custom authorities for all export shipments to the countries with import duties applied
- Oversee and manage customs-related activities, including classification, valuation, and country of origin determinations.
- Knowledge of 3PL systems, as well as relevant markets, transportation market capacity, and trends.
- Manage and negotiate contracts and renewals with subcontractors and transportation suppliers.
- Understanding of methodologies to drive a new business model and customer transportation setup needs.
- Ensure that logistics systems and activities follow, and operate in accordance with, local, state, federal and international customs laws. Create and maintain compliance procedures, processes and policies for import and export shipments
