Job Summary:

The communications and development manager is responsible for managing the marketing communications (marcom) goals and meet fund raising targets for the organisation within the given timeframe.
He/She drives the marcom initiatives of the organisation ensuring that the organisation’s brand and communications position as Charity of choice for family relations is secured.
He/She also develops fund raising leads, conducts donor engagements, manages donations channels and monitors donation acquisition programmes. He/she is a resourceful and innovative individual who is able to demonstrate initiative in identifying new opportunities and converting them into actual donations.
He/she also monitors the team's performance against marcoms and fund targets, prepares reports for management reviews. As a manager, he/she provides guidance to staff in the areas of marcoms, charity protocol and fundraising regulations.
Term of contract: 1 year renewable contract.
Key responsibility areas
Marketing Communications
Drive marketing communication strategies:
- Formulate, implement and manage marketing communication and media strategies to enhance the Organisation’s profile and image
- Oversee the development of the organisation’s fundraising materials and collaterals
- Conceptualize and drive effective fundraising strategies
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of fundraising and sponsorship initiatives
- Manage and update communications via corporate website and appropriate social media/digital platforms
- Promote and maintain message consistency and coherence at the Organisation’s level
Fund Raising
Manage overall activities related to Fund Raising:
- Strategize and execute fund raising initiatives and activities in order to meet the resource requirements of the organisation via innovative methods and tools available
- Identify and cultivate potential current and new prospective partnerships, developing a robust and attractive case for support in the form of major gift donation, or partnerships that will advance the organisation’s mission and to meet overall fundraising targets
- Grow small donors pool as well as securing in-kind donations; develop, motivate and enhance relationships with sponsors, donors and volunteers
- Ensure that fundraising activities and events comply with internal policies and prevailing regulatory requirements including but not limited to fundraising permits and audit requirements
- Ensure donor records and information are up to date
Staff Management
- Manage the performance and coach junior staff supporting Marcom and fundraising works of the department
Requirements
Experience:
- At least 5 years in marcom and fund-raising, or in roles with proven track record in revenue generation as a team lead
Qualifications:
- Minimally Diploma holder. We also welcome mid-career switchers.
