Responsibility
- Plan, direct, and manage all the activities and resources pertinent to the successful operation and systems in the delivery of a safe, reliable,
efficient, and customer-friendly rapid transit service in a cost-effective manner. - Ensure that customer needs are taken care of, rolling out Customer Service initiatives and the timely execution of Customer Service strategies to all front-line staff.
- The job holder is expected to plan, direct, and manage the working of the Rail Operations Division and the conduct of all Operations employees engaged in the daily operations matters safely and reliably. Major roles and responsibilities include:To meet the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / Balanced Score Cards (BSCs) / Mean Kilometers Between Failure (MKBF) set by the company;
- To meet the requirements indicated in the Safety Management System (SMS) under Operations;
- To manage and produce cost-effective daily Operations tasks with due consideration of the demands from customer services, engineering, and operations aspects for the Railway system
To maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the staff through the process of continuous performance monitoring and competency assurance training as highlighted in staff competency procedures; - Enforcement of RTS rules and regulations;
- Establishment of emergency contingency plans, business continuity plans and the constant review of their adequacy and effectiveness;
- To provide daily operations performance statistics to meet the statutory requirements from the Transit Regulator;
- To monitor and provide both system and operations performance statistics for management information and reviews regularly;
- Review of operating performance and consideration of improvements in the methods of working;
- To develop and review relevant Operations manuals, and procedures regularly;
Constant interest in the welfare of staff. - Deal with and provide inputs to Rail Engineering / LTA on Engineering/system design issues which potentially impact the Rail Operations.
- Deal with and provide inputs to Rail Engineering on procedure development works.
- As and when to take new assignments directed by the management.
Requirements
- Degree holder with 8 years holding a management position preferably or Diploma holder with 12 years of rail-related experience.
- Preferably Experience in public transport/railway operations and 8 years working experience at a management level.
- Possess sound knowledge of various aspects of operating a modern metro system in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.
