Primary Purpose:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet business needs and service levels.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st level operational database support.
- Service database changes through the change request process and provide status reports to relevant parties.
- Respond promptly to incidents, investigate, and provide temporary and/or permanent resolutions for escalated incidents, providing timely status updates to relevant parties.
- Monitor and measure the performance and availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions to improve performance and availability.
- Monitor the agreed service levels, document and maintain the configuration of the databases, and provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
- Ensure service levels meet requirements and propose and implement action plans when necessary.
- Monitor databases according to standard operating procedures.
- Participate in the implementation of service continuity measures, such as backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
- Provide prompt 24x7 support.
- Demonstrate good customer service.
