The Opportunity:
Adecco is partnering with one of our clients in the retail industry, we are seeking a suitable talent to join their business as a Merchandise Planner. Reporting to the Key Account Manager and dotted line to the Merchandising Manager, this is a sole contributor position where the successful incumbent will be responsible for handling emerging markets (i.e. Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar) for pre-season merchandise financial plans, category, and assortment analytics, flow planning, in-season financial forecasts, and promotional/markdown activities.

The Job:
- Collaborate with Key Accounts to develop top-down merchandise financial plans.
- Create bottom-up merchandise financial plans and store assortments.
- Analyze customers' Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets and coordinate merchandising plans, ensuring alignment with the brand’s growth strategies and direction.
- Manage stock by working closely with customers to handle retail and warehouse inventories, forecast and allocate stock, order management, and monitor incoming shipments and sales volumes.
- Plan and support the execution of in-season activities with customers, including repeat orders, markdowns, and stock consolidation.
- Monitor business performance through analytics and identify actions to achieve key performance metrics.
- Undertake tactical actions to meet KPIs, including sales targets, sell-in, sell-through, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Develop merchandise lists based on approved floor plans, and recommend products for store displays by Division/SKU and key launches.
- Assist in forecasting profits/sales and planning yearly budgets.
- Stay abreast of competitors' performance and market trends.
The Talent:
- Diploma or Degree in Retail/Fashion/Business or equivalent.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in retail operations and merchandising.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to identify actions and make decisions to resolve issues with urgency.
- Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of retail math. Proficiency in Power BI is an added advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Comfortable to travel overseas when required (about 20-30%).
