CPPA & Offtake Development manager

  • The DNA of this role is to be able to proactively find / develop solutions for optimizing offtake revenues for potential and actual off shore wind projects. There is no defined, repeatable formula for this, each project is different, the challenges are different, the solutions are different and often for each it will be the first time TotalEnergies has deployed that particular solution. To be successful the incumbent will be required to organize and coordinate various contributing parties and to drive the success of finding, proving and then implementing the solutions.
  • To manage and either lead or be a key part of negotiations with customers, JV partners, Internal TTE teams Trading, H2 etc, to secure offtake agreements that meet the required economic and risk profiles required for the project. This will require knowledge and expertise in commercial contract processes and legal negotiations, as well as strong team work and project management skills.
  • To progress projects using all the options available to conclude transactions and generate optimal values including innovative pricing structures for CPPAs, mix of fixed revenue and merchant revenue solutions etc.
  • For many projects TTE will have no clear off-takers defined nor full understanding off the offtake markets. The incumbent of this role will be expected to develop the required knowledge, search out solutions to find customers and to gain the relevant market understanding in order to be able to position credible offtake offers to customers / determine and defend for investment dossiers the projected offtake revenues and associated risks / opportunities.
  • The role is also required to help the Off Shore wind team prioritize and screen potential projects. The role will be expected to have the skills, knowledge and credibility to help the OSW team make these decisions by providing robust assessments of offtake potential and risk.

Requirement

  • Strong project management skills. In particular able to be part of multi functional teams and manage solutions across multi unit teams
  • Graduated from top Business/Engineering School or master’s degree
  • Experience of energy markets
  • Proven experience and success of negotiating commercial contracts (Corporate PPAs or equivalent energy contracts)
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Customer interface and contracting experience.
  • External consultant management
  • Strong analytical, modelling and risk skills / Good knowledge of Excel, other MS
  • Strong presentation skills
