KOL Management & HCP Education, Senior Manager

The Senior Manager, HCP Education and Events APAC, will lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of HCP training, education, congresses, and events across the Asia-Pacific region. This role aims to enhance Alcon’s brand visibility, foster stakeholder engagement, and facilitate knowledge exchange within the ophthalmic medical device and equipment industry. The Senior Manager will ensure that all activities are executed to the highest standards, aligning with the company's strategic objectives and compliance guidelines through effective liaison and coordination with external providers.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for HCP education, training, congresses, and events that reflect the company's business goals and brand strategy in the APAC region.
  • Collaborate with IMG team, Regional Surgical, and Country Marketing teams to develop annual plans addressing customer learning needs and commercial strategy.

Liaison with External Providers:

  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with external agencies, suppliers, and vendors to ensure high-quality event execution from logistics to content delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Drive engagement initiatives with key stakeholders including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), industry partners, and internal teams to maximise the impact and value of each event.
  • Develop educational content leveraging local KOLs to support current and future product launches in APAC markets.

Budget Management and Administrative Oversight:

  • Oversee the budget for HCP education, training, congresses, and events, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for optimal return on investment.
  • Manage all administrative tasks, including securing approvals, processing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with financial practices.

Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Guarantee that all activities adhere to local and international regulatory requirements, industry standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Ensure all actions are delivered in accordance with relevant Alcon compliance policies and local market codes of conduct.

Digital Education and Transformation:

  • Lead digital transformation for HCP education and training, executing digital strategies for the APAC region.
  • Implement advanced technologies and digital platforms such as Virtual Reality and remote proctoring simulations.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of educational and event initiatives using metrics such as customer satisfaction, engagement rates, and ROI.
  • Consistently drive differentiation of Alcon's educational initiatives from competitors through competitive mapping and benchmarking.

Operational Excellence:

  • Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and successful implementation of the APAC HCP educational and event plans.
  • Identify and execute innovative methods of education delivery for a best-in-class experience for customers.

Education: Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree; Desirable: MBA

Languages: Fluency in English, other languages are a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in KOL management, HCP education, and regional events in the med-tech industry.
  • Opthalmic/eye-care background is highly desired.
  • Demonstrable success in orchestrating large-scale international events across diverse cultural contexts, particularly in the APAC region within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries, with a preference for experience in the ophthalmology sector.
  • Solid experience in budget management, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation with agencies and vendors.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory and compliance landscape affecting the medical device and equipment industries in the APAC region.
  • Prior regional scope supporting multiple countries in APAC
  • Hands-on self-starter and work independently
