KosmodeHealth Singapore is on a mission to expand access to health from nature by enabling businesses to repurpose food processing wastes for human nutrition & human health.
Anchored on a Triple and Technology Platform, KosmodeHealth overcomes issues of high-cost of quality plant extracts for functional food development with proprietary Plant Extraction Know-How in the AgriFood Industry; and the issues of high cost and risk of animal protein biomaterial in the 3D Cell Culture sector with Plant Protein Composite (PPC™) Bio ink formulation technology and proprietary precision-controlled 3D Scaffold printing methodology.
Kosmode Health has two business verticals:
· Agrifood Vertical: Anchored on our core plant extraction expertise, KosmodeHealth extracts proteins and fiber from Food Processing Wastes or Spent Grains, for formulation into functional food to meet the nutritional needs of the Asian population. Our innovation in sustaining the health of people without compromising the health of the earth is evident in the creation of W0W® Noodles - the world’s only functional food clinically validated to have ‘0’ Glycemic Response, from Barley Protein Fibre extracted from Spent Barley Grains, a by-product of beer and malt production.
· Biomedical, 3D Cell Culture segment: Protein isolates, repurposed from food processing wastes, are formulated into Plant Protein Composite (PPC®) bio-ink, the primary component for printing of 3D plant protein scaffolds (e.g. PPC® scaffold) that can be customised to meet growth requirement of a diverse range of cells and tissues.
OVERALL JOB SCOPE
The QA/QC & Project Executive/Manager reports to the Director of KosmodeHealth. The incumbent establishes & manages end-to-end processes for both plant extraction and 3D Bioprinting verticals and is responsible in ensuring quality of products, complying in both company and regulatory standards. The incumbent will also be involved in internal and contracted R&D projects as and when needed.
QA/QC tasks include:
- Set up, monitor and enforce adherence to Food Safety and Quality Assurance Programme to ensure that products meet company and regulatory standards. (ISO22000, HACCP, Safe Food Quality Program, etc)
- Coordinate with stakeholders to monitor product compliance and ensure meeting supplier’s quality requirements
- Facilitate compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements for all products
- Review and improve the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for issues in product quality. Implement corrective and preventive action to prevent recurrence.
- Managing quality documents of existing/new suppliers
- Facilitate certification process for protein and fibre extraction from food processing waste
- Manage the quality, sanitation and housekeeping processes in the factory and lab.
Project tasks include:
- Support development in new functional food from concept development to commercialization
- Explore and develop different functional foods with the usage of proprietary functional ingredients
- Design and execute trials for both lab scale and pilot plant setting
- Sourcing of equipment and co-manufacturer for existing/new products to be launched.
- Lead and/or undertake service projects for clients
Qualifications/Experience:
- Degree in Food Science & Technology or related field.
- Proven hands-on experience in quality management and food regulatory is a prerequisite.
- At least 3 years experience in QA/QC capacity (Executive)
- At least 5 years experience in QA/QC capacity and food formulation experience (Manager)
- Experience working in and/or with teams in a Factory environment is a strong advantage.
- Project management experience in delivering projects with clients is a strong advantage.
